Christian Bale as usual great. BTW he played Jesus in an indie film "Mary, Mother of Jesus". Now he is Moses. His industry colleague/bestie plays Noah (Russell Crowe). Now I'm just waiting for Hollywood to make Crowe play the character of God. These 2 are trying to one-up each other in their career characters. I would call/write the new movie - "The Power of God" Why? I didn't like the kid (not Biblical) in this film playing God, because God he is our Heavenly "Father". That is the only negative aspect about this film. Other than that, the plagues and visual effects were great.

If you're familiar with the bible and or story of Moses than you know what the story is about. The movie is great although I wish they'd make one with more ethnic diverse characters as ancient texts, art, etc portrayed as such thus my reason for four stars. Anyway the best thing about the movie is the graphics. I've seen fake graphics in movies that were of poor quality and not well coordinated but this one by far does the job. For $4.99 it's worth it! Buy it!

Good cast. Entertaining at times. But this is not the biblical story of the Exodus from Egypt. It does portray Moses as a military commander, which he was, but it portrays the Pharaoh as being rather wimpish which would have been extremely unlikely based upon what we know from history. Moreover, it identifies the Pharaoh as being Ramesses the Great (making it more incredulous that someone of such wimpish leadership would have been called the Great) when many historians believe that the Pharaoh at the time of the Exodus was either Thutmose II or Thutmose III with the Exodus being about 1446 B.C. This was about 200 years before Ramesses the Great. Still others say that the Pharaoh of the Exodus was Tutankhamun and that the Exodus was in about 1330 B.C. - still many decades before Ramesses. So there is certainly poetic license in this movie which must be viewed more for its entertainment value than for its historical accuracy. For that reason, I give it 3 stars as it does hold your interest. But the story is a bit disjointed at times and hard to follow. The plagues seem to happen out of order, and most of the plagues are shown to occur even before Moses goes to the Pharaoh and demands of him to "Let my people go" which is again confusing to the viewer. So watch it if you want a good action movie, but prepared to be surprised and confused if you expect it to retell the biblical tale in Exodus.

This was a great movie; full of suspense and action. I I enjoyed watching this movie, from start to finish

It's modern CGI and typical modern movie photography - and does a decent job at preserving the spiritual integrity of the story. Certainly not the charisma of actors that put flair into the role. It's strength is in photography and the familiarity of storyline, which at time is drowned in modern cinema technique, and CGI. Not any real powerful character development. That's why I did not give it 5 stars.

I want to start off saying that all the accounts portrayed in this particular movie was not actually accurate. Some parts were accurate according to scriptures but not all scenes stayed with the accounts according to the ancient scriptures. The special effects were good and the movie was entertaining. Acting I thought was good and the picture will keep your interest.

Anything that gives glory to the book/word of the Lord and done on such a big scale is a must get to me or at the very least a must see for the whole family but with that said they could of went into a little more detail they down played and left out some great parts/lines of the story, in other words it could of been better but all in all it was good.

Not as much character interplay between the 2 brothers (Moses & Pharaoh's son); also shows God as an unbelievable boy rather than an unseeable deity. Good Special Effects as to parting of Red Sea; the other 9 plagues are described less effectively. The original with Charlton Heston Yul Brenner was better. Good entertainment for an evening.

The Exodus movie really brings the Old Testament to life. Christian Bale does an amazing job as Moses. No one can image how the story of Exodus played out in reality, but this movie can lead to a discussion about the movie versus the Old Testament version. What would you do, if this happened during our life time?

The cinematography was great. Special effects were almost awesome too. It really condensed the original movie and the story veered some. Had some variations that I did not like as much as the original. If you haven't seed the original movie , then you must see it too. Overall I am not disappointed in the movie.

The movie expressed a different view to the Bible version of what happened during Moses' leading the Jews out of Egypt. The parting of the sea appeared to be just the lowering of the water followed with a flooding. It was different and some younger viewers might have questions concerning the movie.

I'm a sucker for well done representations of ancient cultures. And this was really well done. Very accurate in costuming and architecture. Gritty, subtle performances. Believable interpretation for the most part. And in the end, when Moses peeks out of the wagon? I got goose bumps.

This was a fund movie to watch but it was not very close to the what the Bible has to say. For example, the movie shows a young boy who played the part of God. Also, the movie showed the plagues just sort of happening without Moses warning Pharoah of each successive plague.

The film was good although not exactly as i remembered from Sunday school. Still an entertaining picture overall of the exodus from Egypt. Ridley Scott made it a little long and it takes a while to get moving but still a good film.

I enjoyed the new rendering of the ten commandments. Although the special effects were weaker than I thought they would be, it was quite entertaining. It didn't develop the characters like the original did, but it was good.

THE NEW VERSION ABOUT MOSES AND THE EXODUS IS OK ....BUT I WANT A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE EXODUS OF THE HOLY BIBLE ..... STILL I'M RECOMMEND THIS NEW VERSION OF THIS MOVIE EXODUS GODS AND KINGS....

I enjoyed this movie in the theaters, and immediately added it to my list of movies to buy. Big Hit!!! It's a little slow starting, but once the action kicks in, it gets better and better.

This is a solid movie that chronicles the Hebrew Exodus out of Egypt. The story is very well known and you see all of the major events throughout the film. There are some elements, such as the depiction of God, that are divisive, but overall, it is worth seeing and you can understand the intention and the grandeur Scott is trying to bring. As far as special effects, the plagues and the parting of the Red Sea are beautiful to watch. It might not be the Charlton Heston classic, The Ten Commandments, but few movies are. Give is a watch

There are some elements in the movie that go into greater detail about stories involving the exodus that I didn't know! I love learning these nuances that I wasn't aware of before!

This movie was good. I wasn't sure if I would be able to get into it, before putting it in the player, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was very well done all the way through.
