Q: is this wireless? for example, could i move it into another room while video chatting with someone?
A: The device is wireless but does require you to have power. You can move the device and plug it in the other location but it will have to boot back up. It would be nice if it had at least a small battery but it doesn’t.
Q: Do other family members need a portal in their home ?
A: No they do not need the physical portal device in their house but will need a device that has the Facebook messenger installed. The portal can work portal to portal or portal to another device with Facebook messenger.
Q: Can you record just videos of yourself? Like a video blog?
A: Not that I am aware of. Maybe you should suggest to company. I would like to be able to leave a message if person is not home or available.
Q: Does the Facebook Portal play music like the Amazon Echo, and are they compatible?
A: Yes. It can connect to Pandora, iHeartRadio and Spotify. I don’t use Spotify but it works well with the other two I know for sure.
Q: Can you demo the Facebook with Alexa from this store?
A: Yes you can.
Q: do u need internet for product
A: yes and a facebook account. You can use public internet but you have to connect. You can receive calls from the portal on your cell phone as long as you download the facebook messenger app. Got one for family member in nursing home and was able to set up with there internet.

A: No. No monthly access fee.
