Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is exactly what fans of Japanese horror have been waiting for. The atmosphere is absolutely oppressive in the best way — dark forests, restless spirits, and a deeply unsettling story about two sisters make this one of the most memorable horror experiences on PS5. The Camera Obscura mechanic is unique and genuinely tense, and the remake brings everything up to modern visual standards without losing any of the original's dread. If you love Japanese horror or survival horror in general, this is an essential pick-up.

Great game and I enjoyed it. Haven’t finished yet but it’s a really fun game. The only thing is when I revived the game it was loose. Like it was rattling in the case not secured but other than that a good purchase.

I still cant believe we got Fatal Frame in the big 2026! This remake is still loyal to the original but of course its not 1:1, many things have been changed to make it more friendly and easy to understand for the new people to the series. The developers are also updating the game with fixing bugs and balancing the ghosts. Give it a try if you are into a game if youbare interested in ghost exorcisings and in the story.

The original is terrifying, the remake makes it even more terrifying. Without going (too far) into spoilers, certain ghosts are expanded upon and improved. The Camera obscura works similarly to the original, though it'll take a little bit to get used to how combat goes in this iteration, especially if you obsessively played the original.

Long time fan of the series. Hopefully the bring the older titles to current gen consoles. Tecmo release some improvements to the game

Overall the graphics have been given a complete makeover and look pretty nice. The game itself has also seen numerous Quality of Life changes but still maintains the "feel" of a game from that era. I enjoyed it but it's not going to change your life :)

I feel they did a great job on the remake while still feeling like a fresh first time play.

I really enjoyed the original and it was one of the scariest games I have ever played. The remake isnt as scary but there are a few quality of life updates. It is worth picking up even if you’ve never played Fatal Frame before.

My son was anticipating the new version of this game and he played it with an extra amount of enthusiasm. He was quite pleased with it and I was stunned by the quality of the graphics and gameplay

I haven't played this remake just yet, but i did the original! I am very excited. As for how BestBuy packaged it, it came well protected and without any issues.

Good price and good remake, only thing is the performance in the game could be better in terms of framerate other than that great.

Performance could be better as this should have no problem having 60 fps on the PS5 but it's not the end of the world. Launch had some weird difficulty spikes but it has since been patched and was a very enjoyable experience, especially if you've played the original game back in the day.
