Works Great on my Sony a7rii, Great Resolution!

Just got the lens today so took a few images around the house. Had to downsize them for best buy. But the resolution on my 42mp camera seemed great. Fairly quick to focus. Video was fine. I've tried different lenses around the same mm. Have tried the Sony 50mm 1.8, 55 1.8, Canon 50mm 1.8 and 50mm 1.4 (adapted to Sony). There is no question that the 55mm is just slightly sharper (but not by much), and faster, but I use my 85mm 1.8 mostly for portraits. I find the 50mm 2.5 is quick, small and wonderful for a carry around lens. I will throw that in my bag along with the tamron 20mm and sony 85mm and be all set in a small package.

Great lightweight walk around lens

The 50mm is a great general purpose lens. Along woth the small size it is perfect for my EDC setup. Compared to some of my GM lenses it is a little slower to focus from closes point to infinity but by no means DSLR slow. I do wish the lense went to an F2 aperture but 2.5 is very good. Highly recommend.

The lens is a little bit pricey just like every Sony item I guess; however, it is excellent but I have to admit that for some reason I have a hard time figuring out how to use it every time I tried to shot with it. It is a great addition to my lenses, small, and light.

Small light and sharp

Great 50 mm for travel. It is phenomenally compact and produces a sharp image and a creamy bokeh. The declickable aperture ring makes it great for video and it has similar dimensions to the compact 24 mm so they can share filters.

This is a very convenient 50mm, very sharp and easy to use, and the best part is its size, it allows me to take it with me on my trips where I don’t want to bring a lot of equipment, the picture quality you get for the piece makes it worth to purchase.

I love how small and compact this lens is paired with my Sony A7cII. For amateur / home use this is a perfect pairing with thr compact full frame body. Great for taking candid photos of family and friends in the house and on the go. Fast autofocus and sharp images.

Excellent lightweight EDC lens

I recently switched to a mirrorless Sony system (from Nikon DSLR), and looking to acquire lenses as needed. This 50mm lens is part of a group of lightweight G lenses perfect for everyday carry. Focus is fast, and the addition of an aperture ring is a huge plus for me.

Single tiny lens but it does a lot

Great sharp images with this excellent G lens from Sony. I got this lens for my daily use and quite happy with it. Using Sony a7-iii camera with the lens. Great price, build quality, fast focus, sharp images. Did lots of research and if you are thinking to get 50mm for lifetime kind of thing, then this is it.

The quality of this lens is fantastic. Its an all metal lens, and i love the aperture ring and programmable button on it. It is super small and light, and most importantly, the image quality will not disappoint. Focus is fast and silent too.
