works on but folds the edges

I had a cheaper fellows before this one for about 12 years and it worked perfectly, even after if fell of the counter several times. I finally upgraded it to this one and for some reason it just keeps folding the edges over on atleast have of the sheets i run through it. I like that it warms up quickly but other than that not much good to say.
