[Employee of bestbuy] This is one of the Best Foo Fighter Albums, all the songs being at least decent. Released in 2011, the Foo Fighters' seventh studio album, Wasting Light, marked a triumphant return to the band's garage rock roots. Recorded entirely on analog tape in Dave Grohl's home studio, the album exudes a raw energy and authenticity that resonates throughout its powerful tracks. Back to Basics: Ditching the digital sheen of modern recording, the Foo Fighters embraced a lo-fi approach, using vintage equipment and recording techniques. This results in a warm, organic sound that feels refreshingly real, particularly in tracks like the opening barnstormer "Bridge Burning" and the foot-stomping "Rope." Refined Rock Anthems: Despite the stripped-down production, Wasting Light doesn't lack polish. Grohl's songwriting shines, crafting memorable choruses and guitar riffs that stay with you long after the album ends. Tracks like "White Limo" and "Arlandria" are instant classics, showcasing the band's knack for crafting radio-ready rock anthems without sacrificing substance. Exploring Influences: The album also nods to the Foo Fighters' influences, with guest appearances from punk legend Bob Mould ("Dear Rosemary") and Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic ("I Should Have Known"). These collaborations add a touch of nostalgia and camaraderie, reminding listeners of the band's deep connection to rock history. Not Just Nostalgia: While Wasting Light draws inspiration from the past, it's no mere retread. Tracks like the introspective "These Days" and the Foo Fighters' first-ever instrumental, "I Was Nothing," showcase the band's growth and experimentation. The album feels like a confident stride forward, not just a trip down memory lane. A Must-Listen for Foo Fighters Fans and Rock Enthusiasts: Wasting Light is a powerful and cohesive album that stands as one of the Foo Fighters' best. Its throwback sound, infectious energy, and well-crafted songs make it a must-listen for any fan of the band or rock music in general. In summary: Strengths: Analog recording brings warmth and authenticity, strong songwriting with memorable choruses, guest appearances add depth, explores influences while sounding fresh. Weaknesses: Some may find the lo-fi production too raw, not as experimental as some later Foo Fighters albums.Released in 2011, the Foo Fighters' seventh studio album, Wasting Light, marked a triumphant return to the band's garage rock roots. Recorded entirely on analog tape in Dave Grohl's home studio, the album exudes a raw energy and authenticity that resonates throughout its powerful tracks. Overall a must listen for Foo fighters fans and rock enthuisiast, being of the best albums the band has to offer

One of my favorite Foo Fighters albums. With Pat Smear's return, the Foos went with the three guitar sound they continue to use today. Highly recommend.

This album is one of the Foo's hardest albums in years. It brings back the heavy guitar and grittiness that is rock music.

Foo Fighters are one of my favorite bands. they will always be in my top favorite bands. and Wasting Light is my favorite album by the boys. I am also a fan of vinyl records, I always liked the sound better than Digital music for the most case. This was a bit sifferent from previous albums I have purchased, there are 2 LP records that are played at 45 speed instead of 33. heres how it is listed: Side A: 1.Bridge Burning 2.Rope 3.Dear Rosemarry Side B: 4.White Limo 5.Arlandria 6.These Days Side C: 7.Back and Forth 8.A Matter of Time 9.Miss the Misery Side D: 10.I Should Have Known 11.Walk Also the Case to this matched the CD case 90%. it is a terrific buy if you're a Foo Fighters fan!
