Friendsgiving - DVD

This November, just-divorced actress Molly (Malin Akerman) and freshly-dumped BFF Abby (Kat Dennings) agreed to forego the family drama and set a holiday table for their inner circle. As the guest list filled up with party crashers, they'd quickly learn that relatives don't have a monopoly on dysfunction! Writer-director Nicol Paone's seasonal ensemble farce co-stars Chelsea Peretti, Christine Taylor, Jane Seymour, Aisha Tyler, Deon Cole, Wanda Sykes, Margaret Cho, Fortune Feimster. 95 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.

For the first big holiday since Tom passed, Martha has to keep it together for her family. With an ever-changing guest list, menu, and secrets to unfold, the Winthrop family is thrown in several directions.

For Manhattan writer Iris (Naomi Watts), there was much she was unable to process about the suicide of her beloved mentor and collaborator Walter (Bill Murray)-including why he chose to leave her Apollo, his 180-pound Great Dane. While striving to integrate the huge pooch into her life (and apartment), she realizes that he's also coming to terms with grief, and that there could be room for mutual support. Affecting take on the Sigrid Nunez novel co-stars Sarah Pidgeon, Carla Gugino, Constance Wu, Ann Dowd. 120 min. Widescreen; Soundtrack English.
