Q: What type of ice does this machine make?
A: It makes crystal clear, hard ice in cubes. You can adjust the time plus or minus 6 minutes to get thinner cubes or thicker cubes.)
A: Hey, Lamps! The model you selected can use either tap or bottled water and does not have a filter. The icemaker can hold the ice for up to 8 hours and will need to be completely dry before storing to protect it. ~Courtney
A: The unit is designed to trickle water over the metal grid to make ice. If the water is really cold - ice can build up that does not slide off easily when the ice making cycle pauses to allow the ice to fall into the bin. As well if there are any minerals and water deposits on the grid - it isn't quite as slippery and ice can stick and build up. One trick many people use is to spray the grid with Pam which makes the ice slide off.

Q: Is this easy to clean? Are the inside parts stainless steel
A: The unit is easy to clean - flush with a mixture of 10% white vinegar and water and wipe interior with a mixture of mild hand dishwashing soap and warm water. Remember to flush the unit repeatedly with potable water to eliminate the vinegar and soap residues. Portions of the interior are stainless & other portions are plastic.
