Works exactly as described. Is easy to empty as long as you take receptacle out straight without tipping. We bought 2. 1 for the sanctuary and 1 for the fellowship hall. We use the water for plants.

There's a pump to remove water through a hose. But water still gets into the container to have to remove manually. It still runs when the bucket is full, but I don't want a bucket of water in the basement. A good design would have water only going through the hose and pumped away, not collecting first, and then transitioning to the pump mode. Perhaps the device uses this water in Auto mode to increase humidity (to keep it in a set range). The compressor isn't always on but the fan is on nearly all the time. None of the options (Dry, Continuous, Quick, Auto) seem to run until the desired humidity and then turn off. It doesn't seem able to get humidity below 50%. My prior dehumidifier (a Whirlpool that lasted 9 years) had no problems getting to 35% and barely had to run - we have a nearly dry basement to begin with!). I do not recommend this product.

This unit works very well. It has a pump to easily move the water out. very simple to operate and connect it to an app.
