  • Key Specs
    • Recommended Room Size: 550.0 square feet (The recommended area size in which the product is designed to operate and produce optimal results, such as the desired heating or cooling. Generally, running a unit too big or too small for the space will result in ineffective operation and wasted energy.)
    • DOE SACC Cooling Power: 5600 british thermal units (The Seasonally Adjusted Cooling Capacity (SACC), implemented by the Department of Energy (DOE) after 2017, is a rating of a portable AC unit's cooling power. This rating is based on revised testing that more accurately measures a portable unit's performance, taking into account that these units do not vent heat in the same way as wall or window units and therefore were not cooling as effectively as the previous BTU ratings indicated (based on the ASHRAE-128 standard prior to 2017). Generally, the new cooling power ratings are lower than previous BTU ratings and can more reasonably be compared to the cooling capacities of other types of AC units.)
    • ASHRAE Cooling Power: 12000 british thermal units (The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) rates the cooling power, or capacity, of portable AC units based on their effectiveness in cooling a single room as intended. Prior to 2017, this was the accepted standard used for comparison with other types of AC units. However, it did not accurately reflect the cooling power as it did not account for the heat emitted from the unit that would circulate back into the space. The Department of Energy (DOE) Seasonally Adjusted Cooling Capacity (SACC) standard is now used to determine appropriate BTU ratings of portable AC units.)
    • Number of Cool Settings: 3
    • Number of Fan Speeds: 3
    • Airflow Rate: 200.0 cubic feet per minute
    • Remote Control: true
    • Integrated Heater: false
    • Sleep Mode: true (Enabling this mode sets the unit to first reach the desired temperature, then gradually increase the temperature over a period of time until it reaches a new set temperature, typically several degrees higher than the initial cool setting. This mode helps save energy while keeping the room comfortable.)
    • Timer: true
    • Auto Shut-Off: false (Feature automatically turns off the product.)
    • Window Venting Kit: true (Indicates whether supplies for venting the unit through a window are included.)
    • Energy Efficiency Ratio: 11 (The ratio of output BTUs (British Thermal Units) to input electrical energy (watts) at a given operating point. Generally, the higher the number, the more efficient the unit. Though higher efficiency units are typically more expensive upfront, they may offset the price in energy costs over time.)
    • Air Conditioner Type: Portable
    • Hose Configuration: Single (Generally, dual hose configurations are more efficient and better suited for cooling larger areas. Single hose configurations typically consume less energy and are best for cooling smaller spaces.)

Q: I just bought Frigidaire - 12,000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner - White but it didn't come with a drainage hose. Just wondering how to remove water from this unit. It is very heavy do I need to remove bottom cap and place this horizontally to remove water

A: Hey Dushan! When the air conditioner FGPC1244T1 needs to be drained the control will display “P1”. You then need to remove the bottom plug and allow the water to drain out. We hope this information is helpful to you in your search for a new appliance. –Thanks!-

Q: Can this be used with a sliding glass door?

A: Hey LisaAnn! The air conditioner FGPC1244T1 will come with a window slider kit. The kit can fit a minimum space of 22.1 inches or a maximum 44.1 inches. We do not offer an additional extension kit to accommodate a sliding glass door. Hopefully this information we have provided is helpful. –Thanks!-

Q: What kind of drainage does it have? Does it have an overflow light or auto stop? How much water does it generate? Thanks

A: I wondered the same thing so i put it in a hot water heater drain tub. so far it hasn't generated any condensation or drainage after several weeks use.

Q: Water is leaking from the bottom of my unit and it is not giving me a code that it needs to be drained. (I have exhaust vent connected and vented through window) Has anyone else experienced this or have any ideas?

A: Hello, Kory! Please make sure that your exhaust vent is properly connected. If you have any additional questions, comments or concerns, please contact us directly at 800-374-4432 M-F, 8:30 am- 8:00 pm. ~Briana

Q: Can I use this unit out a sliding glass door? My apartment does not have any windows just one large sliding glass door will that work?

A: It’s possible, but you will have to find a way of blocking the open area above the exhaust. The material that comes with the unit is not tall enough.

Q: How long can it run before emptying out the water

A: My unit is vented out the window so water doesn't collect in it.
