Here’s a more personal take: Satisfying and Gratifying! I’ve had the Frigidaire Gallery 1.9 Cu. Ft. Over-The-Range Microwave for a few weeks now, and I’m honestly impressed. From the moment I installed it, the sleek design added a modern touch to my kitchen. But it’s not just about looks—this microwave delivers where it matters most. I’ve used it to reheat leftovers, steam vegetables, and even melt chocolate for baking, and it handles every task flawlessly. The sensor cooking feature feels like magic; I don’t have to guess cooking times anymore. One of the biggest surprises was how quiet it is compared to my old microwave—it doesn’t feel disruptive even during late-night snack runs. The over-the-range venting is also a game-changer. It keeps my kitchen air clear, even when cooking on the stovetop below. Honestly, this microwave has made daily life in the kitchen so much easier and more enjoyable. If you’re considering an upgrade, this is the one to get!

We chose this model for its unique, modern look and attractive design. We love the touch controls on the door, vs the standard/generic-looking controls and big clunky handle on the right side of almost all other microwaves on the market. The "hidden" recessed slot on the side of the door, instead of a traditional door handle, is the icing on the cake. The black stainless finish looks rich and elegant against the dark, tinted glass. There is still plenty of light inside to see what's cooking though. The microwave performs well and has plenty of power to cook anything we throw in it. So far, we have mostly used it to defrost food and reheat leftovers, and for those functions, it has been flawless. The controls are intuitive, thoughtfully-placed, and easy to read, as well as responsive. The LED stovetop light is bright and does a great job of illuminating whatever we're cooking on the stove. The 3-speed fan is very powerful, and if I had to complain about something, it would be that there is not much difference between the high, medium, and slow speeds. This isn't anything I would deduct stars for, however. I've also read other reviews that complain about how bright the clock is but it's not an issue for us, since it is easy to see from across the room. Cleaning the interior couldn't be easier -- whatever that coating is in there, it's magic. I just used a dry paper towel to wipe off 2-day-old spaghetti sauce splatter, with one swipe. No chemicals, no scrubbing, no cussing. Like I said, magic. Installation is pretty standard, and as you would expect for any over-the-range microwave. I made sure to secure the brackets into studs, since this is a fairly stout unit. I strongly recommend two people to lift it up on to the wall brackets. After approximately two months of use, we are very satisfied with this microwave, and absolutely recommend it!

This microwave is everything I wanted. There were very few built-in microwaves that were less than 16 inches in height. This one fits in the space and actually seems to sit back a little more than the previous one. Its roomy, bright, and easy to use. It has a silver frame around the front of the door so it’s not necessary to touch the front of the microwave. That keeps fingerprints to a minimum. The light over the stove is nice and bright, so is the digital clock display. That may bother some but I am okay with it. The inside even seems roomier and brighter than the one it teplaced. (Couldn’t get a snap of it without a reflection. )The second snap shows a 1 3/4 Corningware dish for size info.

We purchased this microwave as we needed one with a "zero clearance door". The microwave is not installed above an oven, but between two cabinet sides that are exactly 30" (see photo). Thus no room for the door to swing open without hitting the cabinet. There are very few manufactures other than Frigidaire who make zero clearance models. We love the look of this unit without the handle as we did not want a mismatch of styles, handles and brands of ovens, refrig, etc. This one is very nice looking, quiet and so far works very well. It was very easy to take down exist and replace with templates provided.

Decided to add a new over the range microwave when i had to replace my range absolitely glad i did the matching look is wonderful and the microwave is so much better then my old noisy one. The underneath lite is really nice and i love the sleek look with no handle

This is the best microwave of the 8 or so I’ve owned. It’s quiet, all the interactions such as closing the door, chimes, while active is gentle. Wasn’t sure I would like not having a door handle but it’s not a problem as I said the door doesn’t require a hard pull or push it’s gentle. Best of all is the functionality. Every microwave I have owned wouldn’t defrost something like shredded cheese no matter how low the setting without melting it in places. I was pleasantly surprised when I tried defrosting it on the defrost fish setting and it came out perfect. The only thing I would change on this microwave would be the small view window. Knocked one star off for that but otherwise its performance has been terrific.

Excellent microwave. It was a replacement for same model microwave which my contractor broke when remodeling our kitchen. It is a fantastic product and I wanted the same as a replacement.

The microwave was delivered and installed in a reasonable time. The installers communicated well, arrived on time and were very professional during the installation process. I love the flat front (without a door handle) and that the oven is accessible via the side opening.

Frigidaire is clearly lying on the height specification to make the microwave appear shorter than every other microwave in the same configuration type. The specs state the height is 15 9/16, but it is not. The height in the back is closer to 16 1/2. After buying this and finding out the height is completely wrong I went to the store with a tape measure to compare heights. Every other brand in this configuration range (30" wide and 16-17" high) correctly states their spec to be the maximum in the back. They all are around 16 3/8" - 16 1/2" high in the back and ~15 3/4" high in the front due to the bottom sloping up. All other brands correctly list their back height in the product specs, but Frigidaire is the only one which provides the front face as the product height, even though the back is almost an extra inch higher. They clearly are doing so to make their microwave appear shorter to trick people who are replacing an older microwave and need the shortest one possible to buy this microwave. It is blatant false advertising. Even the Best Buy sales associate who I bought it from was not aware of this. Returned and now need to restart this process all over. I lost a month due to this. Will never buy another Frigidaire product again. Best Buy should drop this product due to false advertising.

Very quiet. Yet when you leave stuff in it lets you know much like a new car does few times. Easy to learn if you read the book. Also on line instructions which are bigger to see. Inside is white so easy to see inside. Window is smaller but still easy to see and doesn’t even get dirty or food all over. Sensors are right on. Oh there is a 10 second as well as a 30 second touch button. And a beverage control. Great for warming up coffe. The 10 second is good for melting cheese on sandwich. Perfect for that.

This purchase was a direct replacement for our still working Frigidare microwave. Newer cooler upgrade. Basically the same exact microwave apart from the modern facelift. Very nice microwave, however the door is mounted incorrectly, causing the door not to open correctly complete with a bump in the outward swing and a very present squeaking noise. Brand new. The box appeared to be previously opened, even though the shipment came directly from the manufacturer to Best Buy.

This is one of the best microwaves I've owned in a long time. Not only does it perform well, but it also looks great—sleek, modern, and attention-grabbing. A few friends and family members who’ve visited my home actually commented on it right away. They noticed how big and shiny it is, with a chrome finish that gives it a very elegant appearance. For the price, it's definitely one of the better, more affordable microwaves out there.

The new microwave has been designed better than ever. The door no longer nags when trying to open, the look is wider by an inch so it fills out the cabinet space and the temperature is hotter than ever allowing the food to cook thoroughly. Very pleased with the lack of the hooks.

The microwave has a sleek design that blends in with various kitchen appliances, adding a semi coordinated look. This is a microwave function only machine. I’ve used many of the functions, but I’m very impressed with the sensor cook especially with vegetables. The heating element is fine and the other functions are excellent – lighting, fan, quick heat, melt and defrost. If you want a simple microwave that delivers superior performance for a value price this is the one.
