Fruit Juice - Mirke vs The Dreamy LLC - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Marine Dreams is a record of modern pop songs written by former Attack in Black bassist, songwriter, and lyricist Ian Kehoe. Recorded in two separate sessions in the home studio of former bandmates Daniel and Ian Romano, these songs are grandiose and intricate in the midst of a seeming simplicity, occupying a strange and unlikely emotional space balanced between the astral plane and life's sudden dark truths. These are bubble gum pop songs if Werner Herzog wrote bubble gum pop songs. Marine Dreams is a debut album of precise athletic force, and serves it's testament to the craft of songwriting by unexpectedly subverting the expectations we have in rock/guitar/indie/punk/psychedelic pop songs. 'New Decade' is the last song at some perfect high school dance. Album Tracks 1. Fold the Sky 2. Yet to See the Sun 3. Season in Hell 4. We'll Get Her Back in Your Arms 5. New Decade 6. No Face 7. Sudden Dark Truths 8. Visions 9. I Can Laugh 10. Marine Dreams

The kind of light psychedelic pop created by Fruit Juice is eminently invigorating in it's giddy goofiness. With their glammy energy and commitment to sunny, falsetto harmonies it's a swirling fishbowl of paint illuminating against a wall in an endless configuration of shapes and colors - all with pleasantly glassy-eyed sheen. Album Tracks 1. Fig. 6 The Pretties 2. I'm Trying 3. Brochure 4. Dreamy LLC 5. S*x Isn't Important 6. Black Car 7. If You Wake Up in Our House 8. I Don't Know 9. Scene 7 10. Mirke Looks in 11. We Tried 12. Charcoal Cream Carousel

On their third LP, Fruit Juice dives deep into some of their oldest and coziest inspirations, which primarily come from '70s pop records. This occasionally touches on disco, the funkier side of post-punk, and even the maudlin tones of '50s teen pop. In contrast to the vague surrealism of previous albums, Engines is grounded in quirky, offbeat perspectives on everyday life-whether it's the oddly calming hum of household appliances, imagined adventures with childhood friends, or playful interrogations to discover who's the family favorite. Album Tracks 1. My Birthday Swim 2. Superhero (Superstar) 3. Molly & the Band 4. Good Thing 5. Crescent Toe Nail 6. Fooled Again (By the Kids) 7. The No Step 8. Squeeze Me (Sweetie) 9. No Room for Me 10. Thermostat 11. Who Do You Love the Most
