My Dash Cam mini 3 is so tiny, it’s hardly noticeable. They installed it right behind my mirror. I love the fact that it has voice command features. The video quality is crystal clear as well as the voice recording. If you don’t want a big clumsy dashcam on your windshield, I highly recommend getting the dash cam mini 3. It’s well worth it.

Defective Dash cam mini after 2-3 years. The video quality degraded to a blurry pinkish screen!

I have had this for a month. I like it because it is hidden out of sight behind my rearview mirror, picture quality is good, the brand has been around for a long time and the price. There are a few things so far I don't like: 1) it records duplicates in two different formats, 2) date/time is off on some of my recordings. Instructions say to connect to the app to fix, I have not tried this yet. I think that is a big flaw, you should be able to set date/time manually and never worry again or depend on an app to link up and correct. 3) It should come with a suction cup mount instead of just adhesive it has. The customer should not have to pay extra for the suction mount that is offered as an option. There are other cheaper cameras out there with starvis2, night vision, 4k, but they have not been out there as long as Garmin and the reviews of failures to record or unit becoming defective after 6 plus months helped make me decide to go with Garmin. The video is good enough quality night and day time. I would recommend this product and also recommend if you have a powered rearview to check out donglar to make the connection from rearview mirror straight to your camera. It makes a very clean installation.

The camera was easy to install and configure. I was able to tuck the wire around the windshield and had enough length to make it to the power port. As of this writing, the Garmin Drive app can be a bit slow to pull video, but it works. (When transferring video, turn bluetooth off on your phone to make it transfer faster over adhoc WiFi.) Video quality is alright. Definitely better than several other dash cams I have seen. It is serving its purpose and met my criteria of being small enough to hide behind the rear view mirror. From the driver seat, it can barely be seen.

The camera is compact and the picture is very clear. This is a very elegant, if not expensive solution for a single camera and even more expensive for front and rear. That being said, I bought two and they paired up nicely in the software to work as a front and rear pair. Elegant, discreet and hardly noticeable on the windshield. The disappointing thing (like most other Garmin devices I own) is the reliability of the connection to the phone app. Keeps disconnecting and is consistent whether it connects or not. Thumbs down to that.

My wife disliked my old dashcam as it would require a button push to record an event - the thing you probably shouldn't be doing while driving in a potentially dangerous situation, which is what prompted me to buy this one to give it a chance as it does have voice-prompted recording. So far this thing has proven reliable in my use - you just have to audibly say "OK GARMIN" and it will start recording an event as it's happening (30 seconds per recording - it starts splicing the video from before the voice prompt is received and then continues for a good while after). Then using the mobile app (or removing the SD card manually), you can download the videos relatively easily for viewing, although I have downloading the files via the mobile app does require some patience (took about 5-10 minutes to download each 30 second segment in my experience) - not a big deal if you can set your phone down by the dashcam and do something else while it's downloading. I also appreciate the form factor - it's quite compact (as the "Mini" naming scheme would suggest) and doesn't take up a lot of real estate in your car cabin. The limitation for me is that it doesn't have a cabin-view camera (unless you basically twist it backwards), but I don't drive for Uber/Lyft nor do I text while driving, so it's a moot point for me in the big picture - worth noting if you the need the cabin-view camera though. Good job Garmin, despite some of the questionable reviews I've found on this product line, I (and my wife) have been satisfied so far.

I have two of these in two different cars, and have used them for a while now. I love the camera, good quality, great size, it's not in the way, good angle... everything perfect. On the other hand, I absolutely hate the software, just ridiculous. You "don't have to use it", you can just take the memory card. But unless you pull out that card on the day the event happened, you will never find it again. The folders are not organized or named by date. And videos are broken into tiny fragments. I changed configurations a million times to show the date and time in the video, but it simply doesn't. It kind of forces you to use the terrible App. Would I recommend? Depends... I'm kind of looking for a better solution now, so probably not.

The dash cam is small and inconspicuous, and the picture quality is good considering its size; however, retrieving data using the drive app takes a ridiculous amount of time. The fastest/less time consuming why to retrieve videos is by directly plugging the camera to your phone. This effectively makes the app useless. Even calibrating the camera is time consuming. I regret purchasing this device and should've listen to my friends; however, I did trust the Garmin brand. Not so much anymore. What really grinds my gears is that I paid $80 for a professional install!

I am very impressed with this camera. Its exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something small and not seen or obtrusive. Wasn't looking for a rear facing view or interior compartment and the video quality is excellent. Price is great, highly recommend.

The product itself is quite fine. It is very small so if you want a concealable camera, this will do just nicely. The image quality is fine but it's nothing to write home about. You only get one sticky pad to mount so make it count. You will need a compatible memory card to use this dash cam, even if you sign up for their cloud service, so have that ready as well. Overall it's a nice, small, entry level camera that should work for most people's needs. Do your research to see if it's best for you.

This webcam was recommended to me from someone that really likes gadgets. The camera is very compact and was easy to install. It doesn't always connect to my phone when trying to review videos but it's easy enough to pop out the microSD card and view on a computer. Another neat feature is the camera will notify me if it detects a driving event in which I should be aware. Thankfully I haven't had to rely on the dashcam and I often forget that it's even there, but I'm glad to have it just in case.

Great DASH CAM. I bought two of these (Front/Rear) because of their size. The WiFi connection is not great - but it does not matter. The key is the Device and Video quality. I just pop the SD Card out when I need to pull any videos.

Quick, easy install, took less than an hour to install and hide the cable. The image quality is good enough for me. You can't see the camera unless you know it's there. There are cheaper cameras, but I bought this one because I have had great success with the brand. I don't intend to review the videos; I installed this mainly for insurance security.

Super compact and does not clutter windshield with existing radar detector. Solid video quality. Does the job for peace of mind

I have both the Dash Cam Mini 3 and the x310. I actually prefer the Dash Cam Mini 3. It works flawlessly, the picture is excellent, especially with the new polarizer, and the small footprint hides it well. If you want a bomb proof dash cam, this is the one to get. The x310 may support 4k video, but it has so many glitches, it overheats, and now Garmin Support will need to exchange it for a new unit.

Super compact and easy to set up. The video quality is clear and it’s nice that it stays out of the way on the windshield. Gives peace of mind while driving and works exactly as expected.

Compact camera with good video quality. Good enough to see who's at fault, but maybe not too grab license plate details at night. Works great for my use case. Setting it up was quick and easy as well.

The Garmin Dash Cam Mini 3 is extremely small and barely noticeable, which I really like. The lack of a display is not a problem since I rarely need to use one. The main downside is the 1080p resolution, which can make license plates difficult to read. Overall, I’m very happy with its compact and discreet design.

It's an ok dashcam but it's a step back from the mini 2. The picture quality is great but the wifi chip in it is awful. It's take forever to load the videos and half the time the camera loses connection and you have to start all over again compared to everything loading very quickly on the min 2. It's also more expensive for worse features.

Excellent, no drama little camera that disappears behind your review mirror. Mine is set up to begin recording when I start the car, stops when I shut off the engine. When the internal memory is full, it overwrites, on the oldest stuff. So, I don't have to constantly unload video I don't need. If there is something I want to keep, I download it. I did not wire it in, just plugged it into a socket and tucked the power wire out of the way. Luckily, I haven't needed it for any accidents, but I've downloaded video of drivers doing dumb things, to show my family - it's really good to show new drivers, who think everybody knows and follows road rules, like they do.
