Q: Can you plot the course then it will tell you when to turn?
A: This unit will tell you when to be ready to turn ahead of that turn and then tell you when to turn as well. Its a great GPS.
Q: Does this deal 5" trucker gps work with android or does it have to be a smartphone?
A: An android device IS a smartphone.
Q: will GPS let you know when a weight station is coming up?
A: Yes it alerts when about 5- miles away and puts a icon up in top right corner
Q: what year and month is the loaded map info
A: Mine came with October of 2016. However I soon learned during driving this was recent enough. The update was easy enough. But soon after the update I had issues for a few days. They included stuttered speech and random freezing that would cause a restart. They happen here and there in certain areas of the North East. But other than that it has been a fine unit. I definitely recommend updating it as there are many things that have changed since this was rolled out.
