I say this without exaggeration, this inReach Mini 2 is quite literally the best purchase I have ever made from a practical standpoint. I was in an emergency situation at the bottom of the Grand Canyon and was able to communicate with my family and emergency responders with literally no issues whatsoever. It also allowed my emergency contacts to track me and from what they've told me, the tracking is very intuitive from their end and from my end all I had to do was press a button and it started automatically. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this product. It is compact, works exactly as intended, has an incredible battery life, and quite literally resulted in my ability to singlehandedly and confidently hike back out of the Canyon completely alone.

Would need to pay a 40$ activation each time you buy a subscription even for the same device. It is not a one time fee, the 40$ fee needs to be paid everytime you resubscribe. Device works as intended.

after backpacking for 2 days it died, I brought along a power pack which got wet and it discharged so I had no power. Maybe it would have lasted longer had I turned it off at nite but forgot. Expensive subscription and very short battery life. Think it's still good idea to have one of these.

The compact size, means of contacting via email or SMS gives me confidence that I can contact someone in the event of an emergency. I also like that it is compact and can fit in my pocket or attach to my clothes

Purchased for my daughter hiking Superior Hiking Trail and doing Boundary Water trips--connection and piece of mind, priceless. Small, compact, and reliable.

I purchased this device for my recent road trip to seven national parks. Works great! I was able to communicate back home with no issues. The only con is the subscription plan, but you can pause it until the next use.

I was never into carrying a satellite device until this came out. Light, reliable and unobtrusive

Works great in the wooded wilderness. Was able to text another person with the same Product 25-30 miles away. Did need help from my son with setting it up I’m not text savvy

The inReach Mini 2 gives me real peace of mind when I’m out in the woods or anywhere without cell service. Some newer phones offer emergency texting through satellites, but the Garmin still feels like the stronger option because the GPS hardware is better and the signal tracking is more reliable. It pairs easily with my phone, texts go through even in tough spots, and the size makes it easy to forget it is even there until I need it. It is one of those safety tools you hope you never have to use, but you feel better the second you clip it on.

Went on a very remote trip. This device never missed. I was able to use it for gps mapping and unlimited texting back home to the family. It is small and easy to use, and battery life was great. Subscriptions are month to month, so you can activate it only when you need it.

InReach mini 2 Is necessary all the gear all the time for ADV riders. Works well as advertised.

Bought this for Canada/Alaska trip in case of emergency. Small, very portable and reasonably easy to use. I need to spend more time studying it in depth and using is. But it will always go with me!

Great, very compact and very easy to hold in your hand.

Pretty expensive in purchase price and subscription but it works. It s good for hiking alone or being out for a while without signal and being able to send and receive short texts, adds a little peace of mind. Battery last a long time, does seem to slowly discharge while powered off. Durable so far, dropped it, knocked some rocks while scrambling, seems fine, minor scratches.

Great little emergency location and communication device for back country travel. It’s super small and light weight which is nice when backpacking. Battery last for such a long time, that I don’t need to worry about it on my trips of 1 to 5 days.

Nice device. But I went of the Montana 700i more capabilities on it and while the mini is more portable the Montana has more bells and whistles.

Device performed as advertised. Used on a 7 day sailing adventure. Left it on in 10 minute tracking and received a weather update 2x per day and still had plenty of charge remaining for a few more days

Great item. i purchased it for my 7,000 mile motorcycle trip. I can have family follow where im at and i can use the SOS if i get in an accident and no ones around and ive been ejected from my bike. I like how i can pause and continue the monthly subscription as needed. Lots of cool features in a small package!
