Well worth the purchase price. Fast, accurate, Lifetime Maps, Lifetime Traffic, Bluetooth live connectivity, easy magnet mounting, this has it all. Very Pleased, and Highly recommended.

I bought this to replace one I had bought for my son to use when he first got his license and had stolen by a disgruntled former roommate as we need a GPS for vacation travel this winter. I like the sleek design because it is very easy to fit in my purse when I remove it from the car and put it in the matching Garmin case. I like that the picture goes all the way to the edge of the device-there is no wasted space and it is easy to see and use on the windshield and not in the way of my vision of the road. I've had no problems with it falling off the windshield as we did with the previous one and it snaps on to the charger mount with the live traffic antenna easily and securely. I like it has a longer cord which I keep plugged in for the live traffic. I like that it is portable, as we plan to use it while bicycling on vacation, though I do not know how long the battery will last, but probably at least as long as our bike ride. I may get the aftermarket bike mount that is available for it with the zippered clear front waterproof case. The quality of the picture is much superior to the non HD one that was stolen. I don't have much use for live traffic where I live, but expect it will be useful when traveling. It's very easy and intuitive to use. I bought a stylus that clips to the case or cord, but using it isn't necessary, just handy when you have large fingers to put in addresses without mistakes. I think it was worth the extra money I paid to get the nice upgrades this model has. The only thing I regret is it doesn't have RV maps upgrades available to purchase for it separately, as we would have liked to had them for our motorhome when on vacation.

This Garmin unit is my fourth automotive GPS in the Nuvi line. I have also owned two marine units and one aviation unit. I have been using Garmin navigational GPS's since 1988 so I am very familiar with their product line. This particular unit is an extremely capable navigational device and is very sleek in design as well as outstandingly crafted. There is nothing cheap or flimsy about this model. It is made mostly of a solid aluminum unibody with glass and plastic screen components. Navigational directions are forthcoming in mere seconds simply by asking her using your voice. No more buttons to press and the voice recognition is very finely tuned. Traffic redirects are very good at least here in the Kansas City area. HD quality maps are very pleasing to the eye. I love the magnetic mount - quick and easy in and out of the car. I would recommend a carrying case as this is a slippery little device, smaller than my iPhone 6+. The battery life off the mount is roughly an hour, so don't expect to go off on a long Geocache expedition on a single charge. I would definitely recommend this to anyone that appreciates a higher end product.

If your looking a great GPS this is the one to buy it does everything and much more, I love the voice activation I just say a command and it will do it. i wish the price would be lower this is not cheap. The magnetic mount is a awesome addition along with it;s thin stylish profile, The 3597 is the best GPS on the market today I've researched just about all of them and this one won;t disappoint you. The only thing I wish it would have is pedestrian mode to carry it around when I'm not in a familiar area. This also comes with lifetime free maps no more paying for them. It's easy to use and the screen is big and user friendly and can be controlled by touched, You will not regret this purchase,

Purchased this GPS ahead of a cross country road trip via old Route 66 based on several tech publication and consumer reviews. Very easy to set up and use. The bluetooth Smartphone Link feature came in very handy when I needed to make quick calls on my mobile and the voice commands worked quite well when I needed directions in a pinch. The battery life is pretty good (about 2.5 hours while providing directions). The screen and volume settings are perfect and there are a fair variety of voice and icon options from which to choose if you like to personalize your experience. Well worth the higher cost for the lifetime traffic and maps updates. Highly recommend.

The Garmin Nuvi 3597 LMTHD is the best GPS I have ever owned. This GPS is thin and sleek, very easy to use, and has some great features. The hands free Voice Command is also very easy to use, and responds to your key phrase to activate. No buttons to push while you are driving. You can integrate your Bluetooth smartphone with this also. The Traffic alert lets you know how long the delay will be and how far from you. It sometimes even announces that it has a better route for you and asks if you would like to use it. I was able to save myself forty minutes the other day when I was stuck in traffic when the Nuvi suggested getting off at the next exit and using a new route. I was able to take the favorite places I had saved on my two older GPS's and load them into my new 3597 very easily by using a program on Garmin's website. Garmin really does a great job designing these devices. This unit is also so thin you can slip it into your pants pocket. There are quite a few other great features on this piece. I could go on until your eyes glaze over, but I think you get the idea. I would highly recommend this to any of my friends.

I like this GPS a lot even though it costs over $300. It has lifetime updates. It was very easy to do the initial update and is very easy to use.The 5 inch screen size in HD is very nice and shows very well at night. It also has Bluetooth so I can connect it to my cell phone as I travel a lot for business. The speaker on it is very loud and clear. The directions are accurate. I also like that it doesn't wait until the last moment to give you directions. It will even warn you when you are in a school zone and speed limit. Mine also came with a Suction Cup Mount with Magnetic Cradle. The magnet is very strong. Great feature. I am very happy with this product.

I spent over a year looking for my ideal GPS navigator and I finally found it in the Garmin Nuvi 3597. The traffic data updates are greatly improved over the previous navigator I used for the previous six years. The touch screen is reliable and just as good as any iPhone I've had. Voice command usually hits on target and is easy to use. The smartphone app and the Bluetooth connection with my phone make my travel life easier. My only complaints are the poor quality of the Bluetooth speaker phone performance and I wish more than one item of active travel information can be seen in the lower right corner at any one time. For example, I'd like to be able to set my display to show current time, destination time, and distance to destination simultaneously. However, only one of these stats can be shown at a time. I am very pleased with this purchase.

My husband and I were very reluctant to buy a GPS because our past experiences with them haven't been the best. This GPS is seriously amazing! The screen isn't like those old, matte GPS screens, but it's more like a smartphone screen, shiny and easy to use (i.e. when you touch a button, the unit responds immediately!). This GPS also gives you updated traffic information and will actually reroute you if it can save you 5 minutes or more. We have been saved from huge traffic jams a couple of times! I would absolutely recommend this GPS!

this GPS in steps above the one I had. The voice command is very good not perfect but very very good the video is excellent the features are great. Garment changed up some things from my old faithful GPS some seem like improvements um I'm not really quite sure why they did it for example of rename some of the categories you take a look at and that seems to be a lil bit more challenging however they have not made it where you can enter the whole address in a much more user friendly method

This is my sixth Garmin GPS. It is the first one that is not compatible with MapSource. That's too bad because although that software is old, it does have the newest maps and it is great for trip planning. The 3597 looks great, has a terrific magnetic mount, and the screen is beautiful. I miss several of the screen display options that my 2460 had. For instance you cannot view trip date with fuel mileage (with the Eco HD assessory). Since this unit connects to your phone for data, I was concerned that it would interfere with my car's Bluetooth setup. It is not a problem and works great.

Premium design with with the best 5-inch capacitive screen I have seen on a Navi unit. Thin metal chassis with an easy, best in class magnetic mount. Voice command is intuitive and nearly on par with Google and Siri. The quality is on level with the best smart phones out - you could easily mistake this for a top of the line smart phone. There is simply no other unit on the market that comes close to this Navi unit.

The voice instructions, "turn left at the lights..." failed after 1 month. In store replacement was fast and easy. No failures with 2nd one. Does not have a tone indicating "this is your turn" like Magellan, which sometimes causes problems in urban or high density street layout areas. Can travel with wide view, auto zooms in and splits screen to show accurate detail at route changes, advises lane choice, all very handy, then zooms back out. Offers time saving detour options when high traffic is reported. Is very limited with alternate routes, usually gives you two, rarely three choices. If you want to get creative with an alternate route you have to know your way around some (or consult a map) to force it to constructively reroute as it will repeatedly try to get you back on to your original route choice. Many choices for what data is displayed on screen, such as direction of travel, time, ETA, speed, mileage, time remaining and more. Great vehicle icon choices and places on the route like banks, stores, restaurants, gas stations etc. Offers many choices of restaurants and hotels ranging many miles with the choices. Good graphic quality. The 3-D graphics in cities is cool. Satisfied with the voice command feature. Fast recalculation. Has only taken me to the wrong place once. Offers Bluetooth pairing for hands free smartphone usage. Get map updates 4 times per year by attaching to PC via provided USB and installing small Garmin Express app that works well.

When I select a product, I ask it to do exactly what it says it will do. I looked at several Garmin and TomTom GPS units before selecting this specific Garmin GPS. I have a smart phone, so I don't need a GPS for short drives, but this one was to be used for a cross-country trip and I didn't want to use "tons" of data on my cell phone plan. As soon as I got home, I loaded the most current maps into the unit and it served me well on my first trip. The routes it selected were accurate. During the trip, it recommended three alternate routes. Two saved me time as I went "around" the traffic problem, the third alternate route put me into "rush hour traffic" and I lost 10 minutes. However, overall, I am pleased with the GPS and I love its magnetic mount to the window suction unit. The screen is easy to read and it configures easily to add new address targets. Bottom line: The Garmin performs as it says it will. I would recommend this Garmin GPS.

First off let me say that the free software "Garmin Express" allowed me to transfer all of my favorite destinations to this newest unit (3597LMTH ) with ease. Also used it to update the traffic firmware and maps (free for this unit). The graphics are sharp and the Interstate exit split screens come on early and remain on until you are making the turn. Prior Garmin exit "picture" would go away much too soon. As an experiment I was able to combine touch screen selections and voice commands to achieve what was needed but could get there with just voice command or just touch screen.Touch screen very responsive with only light touch. Searches were user friendly and helpful along with the numerous company icons located on the map to show where their franchise location is on your immediate route.It is quiet until directions are needed (never ever has it said "recalculating"!) - If you miss your turn it just tells you what to do next such as "continue on to exit XX on the right". Turn commands more user friendly such as "Turn left at the next intersection onto Main Street"! Traffic alerts noticeably better than before with color coding for severity of alert; however, it may depend on location because sometimes it was very timely and other times I could see the "parking lot" backup ahead just before I received the alert. I don not own a Bluetooth smart phone so I can't comment on that. Easy to attach or detach with the magnetic windshield holder. Still lots to learn as I am not a frequent vacationer and am a retired nearly 67 year old. Accurate dependable unit that puts one at ease and on course along with options especially when you "supersize" things by learning some "tricks" to personalize the experience. Oh, no need for the 7 inch unit. This five inch size is fine, Just enlarge the map if you can't read it.

This is a great GPS, easily the best I've ever had. My last GPS I switched to a Tom-Tom because the routing on my previous Garmin was terrible. Decided to try Garmin again and decided on this one. I wanted a 5 inch screen with a nice display and hopefully with good routing. This is it. It is expensive but everything works well. The screen is very good and the glass capacitance touch screen is great. Voice commands can be handy but sometimes you need to speak loudly and distinctly to be understood. It reacts quickly and locks on to satellites fast. Searches are fast and generally accurate. I also love the magnetic mount. It's quick to attach and detach. You just get it near the mount and it snaps into place. My only complaint is the suction cup part of the mount, it' doesn't attach very strongly and often pulls off the windshield when trying to remove the GPS.

Very simple to use. The voice command works really well allowing you to keep focused on road. Many nice features.

Had an older model Garmin that lasted a long time and still worked except the platic swivel joint cracked and wouldn't stay in the holder. My kids surprised me with this new one and it is sleek. Larger screen and much more user friendly. Like the bright colors and added features. Wouldn't buy any other brand. Garmin is the best and so it this model!

I always recommend Garmin when GPSs come up in conversation. My first Garmin (Nuvi 680) is still up and running and it's 7 years old. The only reason I purchased this new one is because Garmin stopped supporting the MSN Traffic so my $600 unit had no traffic information which was the entire reason I bought it in the first place. The graphics are fantastic and I like the "real talk" of "turn right at the traffic light" once you are approaching the turn. I like the sleek design but the so called easy on and off with the magnet is harder than my original Garmin. The magnet is so strong that it nearly rips the unit out of my hand as I attempt to put it on. I do get that it must be strong to hold it in place over bumps and things, I just prefer the mounting of my older Garmin. The 680 would give the prices of gas at nearby stations, but this model does not. Perhaps the pricing was a feature of the MSN Traffic. The menus to find places is a step or two more than the 680 but it seems the subcategory feature provides more search options so I'll take that good with the bad of having to go deeper into menu options to get what I used to with one click. The touch screen seems a bit too sensitive as I keep going to screens that I didn't want to. I like the voice command option. The maps still aren't as good as they should be. There is a street in my neighborhood that has been blocked off with jersey barriers and closed permanently for traffic for about 10 years now yet this Garmin keeps telling me to go down it. Also, when searching in Bars/Pubs, it isn't showing my local that has been opened now for over 3 years so I don't know how up to date these "lifetime maps" really are. Garmin units are still better than any other I've ever used (either in a friend's/family member's car or a rental). I'm very happy with my purchase.
