As an avid cyclist, I'm always weary about my surroundings and always try to keep myself in a safe situation. The bright front light on the Varia Vue helps me to be seen during the day - and is more than bright enough to help me see the roads at night. The light beam has a very sharp cut off so it doesn't blind oncoming vehicles when aimed correctly. Just in case something we're to happen - the recorded footage is more than clear enough to retrieve detailed information such as vehicle make/model, color, and license plates. Although the video footage is excellent and the image stability function works fantastic - make no mistake that this unit will not replace your Go Pro style action camera. This is not what this unit is designed to do. I will not ride without it .
