Track your progress with this Garmin vivosmart 3 activity tracker. It's incredibly thin so that you barely notice it on your wrist, yet it still provides the traditional Garmin tracking quality thanks to its all-day stress monitoring and 24/7 heart monitoring. This Garmin vivosmart 3 activity tracker lets you check your fitness age so you know you're making progress.
Q: Does this also have a watch like the lower end model? Does the watch continue to show?
A: If your asking does this tell the time, yes it does. Unlike the previous Garmin models this one does not have an always on display. There is a setting to have it come on when you raise your arm and look at it or you double tap the screen to turn on the display
Q: how long does the battery last before needing to recharge?
A: I've had mine about a month. It replaces a much older version. I find the battery lasts 5-7 days depending on how much I am using it. I wear it 24/7, but sometimes I'm scrolling through options more than others. Also depends on if you have the notification setting turned on and are getting alerts from your phone. That would use more battery than if you have that setting turned off. Hope this helps.
A: Yes a charging cable is included
Q: Does it have smart notifications?
A: If you're referring to notifications from your smartphone, like text messages, emails, incoming calls, etc....yes. It's not always persistent, however, from my experience. Texts will come in on my phone, but sometimes I won't get notified on this device. Hopefully this can be fixed with a software update or something.
Q: I am considering purchasing this model; Is the Garmin Vivosmart 3 water proof?
A: The vivosmart 3 has a water resistance rating that would allow it to safely get wet while in a pool or bathing. For more information visit www.garmin.com/waterrating
Q: Does the vivosmart 3 track laps and distance while swimming?
A: Sadly, it does not. That is one of the few downsides to this tracker.
A: It does track calories burned....you would need to sync it with the myfitnesspal app to track calories consumed. You just have to enter into the app the food you are consuming and it will calculate the calories for you
A: My cell phone was not compatible and would not even synch to the vivosmart 3 smart watch so I went back, exchanged and purchased a Fitbit Charge 2 now which shows notifications, like emails, telephone calls, and texts, but my phone is not compatible with those types of notifications. But I am happy with it, nonetheless. However, I do get notifications when I need to be active and when it is time to wind down to sleep, sleep cycles, distance walked, log in water drank,.or when I get badges for accomplishing certain goals. It resets after 24 hours for your activities. Check to see if your cell phone is compatible to receive the email, phone calls, and texts, if that is what you are talking about. I don't miss those notifications because you have to have your phone with you, I think. I like the vibrating notifications I get to remind me to exercise with my Fitbit and other notifications I get. I see that you purchased your vivosmart 3 only a day ago (this may be 72 hours later since this answer has to be reviewed by Best Buy). I returned my vivosmart 3 to Best Buy when I realized it didn't synch and they graciously exchanged it for me for the Fitbit that worked. However, I didn't check which phone was compatible with the phone notifications but I am very happy with my Fitbit Charge 2 smart watch. You probably can go on line and check out the different Fitbits that are compatible with your phone. I hope this hasn't confused you and I hope it helps. Check with your Best Buy tech in the store where you bought it; they may be able to help. Also, check out the product below. I purchased this one only in a small. I posted the large assuming you are a man. If not it can be purchased in smaller sizes. P.S. I like the the look of this one; it is similar to the vivosmart 3.
