I like white appliances to brighten the kitchen. The panel is also easier to read than a black or stainless steel. The inside is also white which makes it easier to see. The light comes on as soon as you open the door and stays on while it’s cooking. Plus you can easily see through the door (unlike some microwave windows) to watch your food. It takes 50 seconds to heat a cup of water for my cocoa. It has your one touch cooking buttons and an add 30 second button which I’m constantly using. I’m sure I’ve missed something but I hope I can attach pictures which I think will help.

The connectors on the thermal sensor and the flame sensor melted. The sensors are just fine and the fuse never blew. Also, this failure is not from flame or thermal event. It appears that the turntable mototr is defective and probably was from day one. It should present 130 ohms or resistance to the meter, but instead I get 120 ohms. I'm assuming that is the excess current that metled the connectors but did not blow the fuse. So far, all other devices test to specifications. The 2 sensors must be replaced cannot be reused because the spade connectors were damaged during the removal of the melted connectors The were fused together. My last microwave lasted 10 years and would be here today had the power company not fried every (almost) appliance and electrical device that I had. Even the kitchen range and several light bulbs. The one before that also lasted about 10 years. I didn't plan on posting a review until I saw so many others that experienced that same premature death from apparent poor or inferior parts. I am disappointed as i'm sure is Thomas Edison. Shame shame shame.

We purchased this model feb 2018 and it died December 2018. An electrical connector piece under the very top cover completely melted black and smelled like plastic burning because it was. GE honored the warranty and told us they would cover the replacement so having all ge appliances we bought the same microwave again thinking we’d be ok. But not even 6 months later the exact same model had the exact same problem and the connector piece burnt again. Ge knows of the problem and says it just happens and that it won’t start a fire but we feel there should really be some kind of recall on this model. It shouldn’t smell like your house is going to burn down when trying to make popcorn. So again they are replacing our microwave but I will not be doing so with this model. Please do not purchase this microwave it’s the worst model they have. Included photos of each microwave to show it’s the same price failing each time

I really like this GE microwave. I had a microwave that had a black window. This microwave has a white one so you can see the food while it's cooking. It is also easy to operate.

Easy to use and worked well until it died at about 15 months. We hardly used it. Mostly we would reheat leftovers or heat water for coffee or tea, but apparently this little microwave can't take much use at all.

I replaced our old GE Microwave that gave up the ghost after many, many years of daily use. I tried very hard to get as close to the same microwave as I could. I liked the old microwave’s solid material construction & the way it heated food all the way through without constantly monitoring the process. It cooked baked potatoes perfectly along with melting quesadillas cheese without overcooking or drying out. So I settled on this GE model. It was almost the same size though the old microwave had curves at the front top sides where the new one is strictly boxy. I figured the inner workings would be the same if I got the same wattage. The first thing I noticed is the tinny sound when the door closes. The old microwave had a solid close snap that sounded firm. This new model makes a tinny snap that makes me think it could do with a better grade of mechanism. The pros are the cooking panel is easy to use & is much like the one before with individual settings for popcorn, potatoes etc. as well as the numerical settings. But the buttons are more clicky than a smooth press like ye olde model. The turntable gizmo is more substantial than the past model. This one has multi prongs that wont slip or slide while turning the heavy glass plate during the cooking process. Also it’s relatively quiet more so than the older model. The cons are: I noticed a small dent towards the back, almost unnoticeable except it’s towards the bottom so when you move it for cleaning & line it back up it catches the eye. Somewhere during the shipping process, even though the box was well padded it got tapped just right to crease the metal which means it’s not as durable a metal as the older model, which explains the tinny noise when I move it around. And I mentioned the clunky sound when opening & closing the door. Cosmetically it has clean lines but I noticed right off the vents on the side are towards the front, rather than the back, which blows air to your face when checking on cooking food. It’s a little uncomfortable, which is why I noticed the vents in the first place. Also it only has two rubber pads on the bottom at the front & none on the back so when moving to clean it leaves marks on tile & the microwave rocks off balance so I had to put a furniture mover square under to balance. You might wonder why I didn’t return the microwave but honestly I really hate to return things & I needed a new one ASAP so I stuck it out. I don’t think it will last nearly as long as the twelve years the old one made it. I give it maybe 2 years just on a hunch on the mechanics of the matter. I waited a good 6 months before reviewing this GE microwave as I wanted to check cooking various foods. Quesadillas are tricky. It likes to half melt the cheese but cook the shell nicely. To totally melt the cheese, the shell gets tough so you have to babysit the quesadilla while it’s cooking to get it just right. Frozen dinners have to be carefully monitored & stirred even when the directions don’t say it or the top layer is tough, especially anything with a patty or noodles in it. And I have yet to get a pot pie to cook without either drying the heck out of it or creating a gummy crust. So do I wish I had bought a different model? Yep. But would it have been a better model? I’m not sure. So many appliances seem to be just passable these days, kind of like disposable products, not meant to last past the warranty. So I’ll be kind & say this GE microwave is passable. Neither perfect nor horrible. Meanwhile I’ll microwave up some popcorn, it does that quite well & there’s a button for that.

Previous model lasted 5 yrs before quitting to heat any type of foods. This much improved unit makes cooking/heating simple without having to remember the time settings. For example to heat water for your tea, place cup in the micro, close the door, press BEVERAGE and your water starts heating, 20 seconds prior to completion-the indicator counts from 20 sec to END. Enjoy your cup of tea. You also have the following push buttons for: POPCORN,VEGETABLES,POTATO,CHICKEN,&FISH.

We really like this microwave. It is small and compact but more powerful than many small microwaves. However, we purchased this one to replace an identical one that died in 18 month. We are assuming it was a fluke, but we should not have to replace it after just 18 months (one year warranty).

I’ve only had it for three weeks, but this microwave works perfectly and is very high-powered when I want it to be. And it was highly recommended in Consumer Reports.

Magnetron in my 1999 GE1.8 cu ft 1100 watt model was destroyed due to user error. Didn't realize how much a family of 4 uses the microwave..NEEDED REPLACEMENT FAST! Best Buy has the best prices and quickest delivery. This smaller model affords me more counter space, but lacks -10 & + 10 second cooking feature and the door is not as sturdy. Doesn't have as solid a feel as the one it replaced. Not a deal breaker, I still have my GE and a fast method of reheating leftovers. The only things we actually cook are microwave lasagna and frozen meals..love having 1100 watts in a unit that size. Happy mommy, happy family!
