I think my GE energy efficient washer/dryer center is great. It uses HE detergent, so I have switched to HE product. It is compact and is much larger than I anticipated, but because stacked as a center makes my utility room seem roomier. Plus I have back problems and do not have to bend over to take items out of the dryer, which is also helpful.

The truth is that this would have to be my wife who would have been asked to write something about this washing machine, since she is the one who spends time at home, but I tell you that she says that everything is fine.

So there is some good and some not so good. First the good, It's an energy and water saver which is good. What I don't like is, there is no knob to select the load size, and this is becuase the washer is censored to know how much water is needed, however, I'm not sure this is good because it does not seem to really have enough water in the load when it is washing. I have paused the load during a wash and literally was shocked to see there was no water however the clothes of course were wet, but my thought was how does it really wash good with no loose water. Another thing I don't like is the water will not fill with the lid open, and because the load when completely filled and ready to was does not have a lot of water, when placing my detergent in the washer there is no way for me to clean out the cap that had the detergent in it. I also do not like that there is no agitator, so you have to place your clothes in the washer as if there is an agitator, because it states it still needs the center area of washer clear of clothes. I guess, lastly my final complaint is, it's a little louder than other washers that I have had. When I first purchased it I thought something was wrong, because I could not believe it would be so noisy. If I would have known these things before the purchase I would not have purchased the washer. But that is what happens when you make an online purchase.

Love this stacking washer/dryer! Perfect space saver and for smaller people like myself (5'1") I can reach into the washer drum with ease. The washer and dryer drums are HUGE, as big as full size separate units. A win win! The washer is a bit noisy when running, but I find that all the newer machines are noisier than they used to be years ago. Most of all ... the controls are SIMPLE, yet give you all the options you need. Not digital, which I love.

So far, I like the new laundry center. It’s fairly intuitive to use. I am surprised how little water it uses and am somewhat concerned with how well it cleans clothes with such little water and no agitator. I am also not very comfortable with not having any control over the amount of water to be used. Other than that, after only doing several washes, it seems to work well and is reasonably quiet. The dryer works well.

We have had this laundry center for over a month now and we love it! I have purchased the GE U Connect+ module to hook up the laundry center to wifi. With the GE app, I get notifications on my phone when the wash cycle has 5 minutes to go, and again when it is done. I even have it set up to make an announcement on my Google Home devices when the cycle is done. I ordered the U Connect+ wifi module directly from GE, and GE Support incorrectly told me I only needed one unit for both the washer and dryer. In reality, there are two ports -- one for the washer and one for the dryer, and you can only connect to one at a time. However, we have found we can switch the module from the washer to the dryer port with no additional configuration. We're debating if we want to order a second one so we don't have to switch it around. The washer has lots of room because of the impeller (instead of a traditional agitator). However, you have to learn to load your clothes around the outside of the washer drum; otherwise, it gets bulky things (like sheets) twisted around a lot. I also want to mention that the Best Buy install team was excellent. Our washer and dryer was replacing an older laundry center in a very tight closet space. I felt so bad for the installer who had to climb all around behind the unit to hook everything up (and he almost got stuck back there). But he took care of everything with our difficult installation with a smile.

Easy to use. No need for all the fancy stuff. Like the title says "it gets the job done". This is my second one of this type. My first one is still going strong after 6 years. This purchase was to furnish a back house.

I have been waiting for weeks now for a replacement center to be delivered. The dryer does not work. The clean lint filter alarm goes off every 2-4 minutes causing the dryer to stop. The laundry center is electric not gas as indicated. I’m sure I would not be nearly as aggravated regarding the need for a replacement if it was not for Best Buy making the entire process incredibly frustrating. I am on the fence regarding purchasing another GE appliance but have definitely made up my mind to never buy another big ticket item from Best Buy again.

Hi there, we're terribly sorry to hear your dryer hasn't been working properly. We can certainly understand how irritating this would be for you considering we'd never want this ownership experience for our consumers. With that said, we're pleased to know you're receiving a replacement. If you have any issues or questions once you receive your new appliance, please let us know. All the best. - Guy@GEA <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/GE_Appliances.jpg" alt="GE_Appliances" title="GE_Appliances" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" />

We are concerned about the ability to get the clothes dry. The washer does a great job ringing out the clothes, but the dryer doesn't dry the rest of the way. We have tried different settings on the dryer including the time setting, that gives you the ability to adjust the warmth (I say warmth because it doesn't get hot) and it takes more than an hour to get reasonably dry ! We are talking about loads on the smaller size. It is an Energy Star appliance but how efficient is it if it takes twice as long to dry than the 21yrs old similar GE unit it replaced?

Works great but be careful with bulky items like sheets if it's not evenly distributed the entire machine shakes.

We have this washer/dryer combo for a couple of months now. It washes efficiently and quicker than our previous washer. It also dries quicker. It has different settings for different loads which are helpful. We are very happy with it and recommend it! It was a great buy.

A little noisy but ok for a stackable unit if you have limited space

Horrible washer. Spend more on the whirlpool. Had problems from Day 1. Water would fill in the tub without any turning of the dials. Got that fixed, but then it won't finish the wash and let any water in to wash. Sooooo, we're doing two cycles minimum just to wash one load...so much for efficiency. If for some reason you decide to get this washer after reading my review, get the protection plan. But don't count on techs showing up like they did to me yesterday. I was at my house from 12-5 and not even a phone call. Lame to say the least, more like insulting. DO NOT BUY THIS UNITIZED W/D.

Misrepresentation Posted
Misrepresentation is the best single word to describe the sale. The item was advertised as an "open box" sale. No problem with that fact or the multiple dents, but what the sales person didn't say was the fact that it was a used item and was returned. Why was it returned? When the unit was installed and a test run was performed, lint was discovered in the dryer screen catcher from the previous owner. I am not sure if that fact was known up front that it would have resulted in a "no sale", but it sure would have lead to a series of questions as to why it was returned. My concern is not knowing if I have a potential problem with the unit which will result in a service call.
