The trim kit makes the combination oven & microwave look good in the cabinet. However, after mounting exactly as the directions state, the microwave door does not swing open freely to its full capacity of 90 degrees. Instead, it opens only to about 40 degrees before it pinches against the frame of the surround kit. The swing side of the surround needs to be redesigned concave, so the ark of the door swing allows it to open completely without rubbing. I fear that over time this rubbing point will pop of the stainless steel front of the microwave. Lastly, the price of the kit is excessive for tin mounting platform and a plastic frame with a very thin stainless-steel veneer. This was the second kit sent to us as the first one came with a damaged tin platform in the sealed box. No problem requesting a replacement except for the initial 3 month wait time for the first then a 3 week wait time for the replacement.

Works great and looks great. Do your research or speak to a professional. Make sure you get the correct size microwave. One size does not fit all. This is for the built in GE microwave look and comes in two sizes depending on microwave cabinet width. Mine required the 30” size and not the 27”.

Purchased this trim kit for my GE built in microwave that also purchased from Best Buy. I actually found an open box item, so it was a great value. I was in a rush the day I picked it up. I figured I would call back to schedule the installation appointment at a later date. I took it home and to my surprise my husband installed it while I was out. That means this is an easy install! It looks great and I couldn't be happier!

I love how it looks but it was not easy to put in. The two employees at Best Buy did warn me and they were right. I had to cut out the whole bigger and I had to buy a piece of wood to lift the microwave up a little. After some time figuring out how to put the puzzle together we got it in! My house is older so I don’t think everyone will have the same issues. Just know it might take longer than 20 min.

Have to return it because it does not fit opening although the correct measurements were given. Also not happy that it was dropped off in front of my house where anyone could have taken it. Techs came back days later and attempted to install it. This is the first bad experience I’ve had with Best Buy. Now I have to start all over now.

Looks great but I had to alter the install to make it work, Installed by the directions led to the door scrapping on the trim. I had to file slots in the trim plate screw holes to provide enough flexibility to make the trim work. Another note, the old trim for the replaced microwave was all metal. This one is plastic with a stainless steel faceplate.

This trim kit is an injection molded plastic frame with a very thin stainless stamping adhered to the front only (not the sides) of the plastic frame. The choices are slim, so I settled. My last GE Profile trim kit was solid metal and heavy. This one weighs nothing and is still expensive. I guess GE keeps the profit. The sides of this trim kit is cut away (presumably for venting) so you can see inside and see the plastic ribs on the core side of the plastic frame, which looks cheap. My main message to GE is that the diminishing quality IS NOTICED by your customers. A high quality budget part does not look the same as a high quality nice part. To buyers, please be VERY careful you order the exact correct trim kit for your microwave. GE constantly changes the numbers and randomly discontinues items, and they seem unable to design new microwaves that use older trim kits. Part number matching is critical.

For what this cost, over $240, I was disappointed to find that it’s mainly plastic. It fit perfectly, but the price was way higher than the materials would justify. Also, the different types of screws weren’t packaged separately. I didn’t realize that there even were different types until I was at the end, and then would have had to unscrew lol the others to find where I’d used the wrong ones.

Had to purchase a new GE microwave to replace our existing one that died... Best Buy, thank you for having this trim kit in stock... Wasn’t happy that I needed a new trim kit to make the new GE microwave complete... Can’t believe how much the trim kit cost... Not Best Buy fault... GE, should have have made the replacement microwave unit fit our existing trim kit... Very disappointed GE... Thanks again Best Buy...

This kit was as advertised. The silver frame is plastic but it matches the oven well.

Professional Installation almost a must with Stainless Steel. It wont close or open pass 45 degrees, make sure it is 100% after the installation is complete. If you don't check, it wont be right. IT DOES LOOK REALLY GOOD.

Item fit perfectly, was easy to install. It gave me back the original cabinet look.

It's a stainless steel trim. Not much to say. Looks nice. I will mention if you are replacing a built in microwave & trim, but not the actual cabinet there might be a difference in the trim size. If this trim isn't the "exact" same measurements as your previous trim, defects hidden under the old trim may now show. That's what happened to us. Even though the microwave was the exact same as the one being replaced, the trim package wasn't (the opening was but not the area that shows around it). Now we have an unsightly small defect from the original cabinet builder showing just below the new trim. Can't really be fixed because it's veneer type wood. Hope this made sense.

Fit on the trim kit is excellent and it made for a nice addition/match to the double oven. No issues with the professional installation - very pleased with the size and look! High recommend this trim kit to give your kitchen the finished look with GE Profile appliances!

Pretty easy to install and more secure.the color is great, easy to clean and doesn't leave such a large gap between the microwave and the trim. All in all, it is a great product. My only knock is the price. Coming out with specific trim and charging as much as the microwave for it make it almost not worth buying.

The trim around the microwave is very sleek and gives it a modern look. Definitely recommend this purchase as an addition.

A little overpriced for what it is, but it's needed so you have to pay. Shipped to my home, but was slight imperfections due to shipping.
