This AC works perfectly for my small apartment! Definitely keeps the place cool. However, the attachments that go into my window do not fit as well as expected. Installation was rather difficult because the tube must be put in the center of my vertical window which makes it tight and the tubes wants to pull off of the window slat. This also only came with one screw.

Purchased the GE Smart Portable AC unit just as a heat wave hit us here in California. After 4 nights of no ac, went online bought the unit, and picked it up curbside an hour later. Easy to setup, works well with app. Highly recommend this unit. I will be purchasing another one for my office.

Good looking unit. Quiet, cools well. It does not seem to be quite as good as the 10K window unit it replaced. But that old one leaked water all over my carpet. Easy to install however my window size forced me to cut one of the panels. Other then that, no complaints.

My new kitchen appliance are GE products so I did not hesitate to buy this product when bought as Deal of the Day! Product as described cools the room quickly. Installation is a breeze. Touch screen to choose the mode and temperature. You can download the app to operate the portable air conditioner remotely. When you reach the set temperature, fan will take over and will switch back to the air conditioner will a louder noise. One cool feature if you turn off the air conditioning, the unit will close automatically that will keep the warm air out to your room. Overall, I'm happy with the air conditioning and hopefully GE will make it a little quiet.

Having purchased this GE portable AC unit to replace my Haier AC (which had served me well for over three summers) I purchased this unit. Although it is smaller and has only one hose, unlike the Haier AC unit, I am pleased to say that this GE portable AC exceeded my expectations. As disclosed in my purchase date, the east coast of the U.S. was experiencing sweltering heat waves which made portable air conditioners a prized commodity. I am happy to write that although my Best Buy store had only two units left for purchase, I got the unit whose box was not damaged and it worked perfectly during the summer. If you are using it to cool your bedroom, bear in mind that the unit can be loud, however, by utilizing its timer function you can have it cool your designated space before you enter it. The price was more than I wanted to spend, but I pleased to write that it was worth that price.

The air conditioner was easy to set up and operate. We have been using it to cool a large bedroom, and it does an excellent job, even on the hottest days. It is a bit noisy, which is not unusual for this type of air conditioner, but should be a consideration when considering trade offs. The noise level did not keep us from sleeping, but could bother a more sensitive sleeper.

Love this product. It works great. It keeps the kitchen, living room and my hallway cool. Don't have to do a lot of maintence on it. No lifting it in/out of a window. Definetly worth the buy if you have back problems.

Cools well, but is fairly noisy. I am a teacher dealing with distance learning, and while the unit does make me more comfortable, I have to run it before and between classes, rather than during them. The other downside is the ridiculous flimsy window//hose set-up. I am frightened to think how much my bill will be, considering how poorly the pieces seal with the window. Other than that, I am satisfied. So long as it doesn’t sky-rocket my electric bill, I would say it is good but not ideal. Noise travels through the window connection and I live in an urban environment. I did not fathom the consequence of that aspect before purchase. Lesson learned. : )

Easy to install the discharge hose in the window. Cools a large room easily. Advantage to have it on WiFi so you can turn it on while away from home so that you can return to a nice cool room. Another plus is that it can be moved to another room quite easily. It replaced a 12K BTU window unit that was just too heavy to lift with a bad back.

This was my first portable ac, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. Set up was challenging (again, maybe it was just my lack of experience?) and the hose was rather short. Other than that, works well! I have a large bedroom and it cools the entire room within minutes.

This little baby is just great,, It has saved some of my sanity and keeps my 2nd floor apt bedroom as cool as I want it to be. YES!! It IS kind of loud though but they've done a decent job of dampening the internal noise of the unit (that would normally hang outside a window). The head of my bed is within a foot of the unit so that is a major reason its loud -- which I am not going to fault the product. I was going to move my waterbed (which is a project) but I got used to the noise.. huh. I used to have central AC for decades and apparently it took a bit to get used to in room units again. It has fan mode and dehumidify mode (and has digital temp AC setting) and a remote control that does all the base does. Only other caveat for me is that the exhaust portal thing (which is cool - no pun intended) is barely long enough for the high placed window in my bedroom -- 53" high (from floor to lowest point of the opened window) I was able to finagle a sealed connection using the included multi-pieced set of in-window "brackets" and some duct tape and got the job done.

I originally bought this as a temporary replacement for my central ac which unexpectedly broke down and we were having a string of 90+ degree days on our forecast. To my surprise this was a delight to have and super easy to install. It cooled off my master bedroom really quick and amazing to be able to turn it on using your phone by installing the app!

Ultimately this is a very good product. I intentionally purchased this unit because of the WiFi capability. I like my room cooled as I'm on my way home, so I like being able to remotely activate the unit so I'm walking into a cool room. This portable unit is great for vertical sliding windows. However, for vertical sliding windows, this could potentially get a little tricky. My only issue with this unit is with the window bracket. Unfortunately, the extension pieces that are supplied in the box, are attached to the main exhaust outlet panel on either side. What this means is that for horizontal sliding windows, your exhaust hose is stretched to it's maximum capacity because the hose has to reach to the middle of your window. This does not leave much room for moving the unit around on it's wheels when attempting to clean. Another issue is attaching the exhaust hose to the main unit. Unfortunately this hose does not secure tightly into the main unit. It is rather flimsy and will slip out of the unit if the base is moved around or if there is any movement to the hose. As far as the cooling capabilities, I'm pleasantly surprised with how well this unit functions. I really like the swing feature where the air conditioner will move the cool air around as it is exiting the unit.

Purchased in Yuma area, since our military dorms air conditioning system went out in the middle of July for a couple weeks kept my 600 sqft room nice and cold throughout that whole time.

Fitting the exhaust to my window required some invention and surgery but otherwise set up was easy. Operation is simple and it works well. Main complaint is that it is noisy, especially at higher fan speeds. But as a temporary solution that can be wheeled out as and when needed it fits the bill perfectly.

Removed a star for couple of reasons: 1. the exhaust tube is very flimsy and thin and is pretty short. Two window inserts supplied with the unit go one ot top of the tube, one on the bottom. You can't change that configuration. This makes the exhaust position pretty high on the window. Along with short tube, unit is stuck at the wall, cant move a little forward. 2 wifi connection took 5-6 tries to connect. 3. Cant adjust horizontal direction of the air coming out. ( Rotating the unit doesnt help much, see short tube above) From pros, its pretty powerful for a small room and pretty quiet.

I got this AC unit and everything about the appearance, features and usability is great. The problem is that the window panel extensions that are provided if your window is great than 20" do not function properly. I am amazed this actually made it past quality assurance. The hole for the exhaust tube is directly in the middle of the window panel. If you opt to use the extensions, the extensions block the hole and therefore the tube will not fit. After emailing GE they stated they have heard similar complaints and that customers have fabricated the window panel to work but advised me to return it rather than fabricate the unit. Best Buy also gave me the run around in terms of returning it back via UPS and made it extremely difficult in a time where stay at home warrants not traveling to the store if needed. Overall just disappointed.

I have had this unit for about 2 weeks and it works so much better than our older unit. It hasn't needed to be drained as it is self-evaporative and exhausts condensation through the window vent. I have been easily able to control it using the Comfort GE Appliances app and schedule different functions using the IFTTT app. It cools the living room and kitchen, about 600 sq/ft, very nicely. The only con is the window vent was not thought out well and you will need to cut one of the plastic pieces for it to fit properly. Even still, I highly recommend this unit!

I was looking for a portable AC that would work with my sliding window for a home office. Living on the 3rd floor of an apartment building during a Pandemic while working from home, I needed something that could keep me cool during the summer months while also having the capability to be controlled remotely and via my Google Assistant. This AC works great at keeping the room cool and is easy to connect to Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant via the GE SmartHQ app. Highly recommended!

I love how you are able to connect this to your phone and be able to to turn on off in the app. Works great to cool off a room:)
