A: Greetings, The burners on this model range are equipped with Sensi-Temp technology. Starting in 2018, UL (Underwriter's Laboratory) regulations require all electric coil top ranges to have temperature limiting capabilities to reduce the risk of cooktop oil and grease fires. As a result, our electric coil burners now use Sensi-Temp Technology. Each burner with this technology has a silver medallion with a button (sensor) in the center of the coil. This button must make contact with the bottom of the cookware for the Sensi-Temp Technology to sense the temperature properly. When the sensor detects a pan temperature near the limit (450 degrees F), the burner will shut off automatically until a lower, safe pan temperature is reached. At that point, the burner will resume heating. This will not affect everyday cooking as the automatic shut-off is temporary and only happens at a very high temperature. Thanks for choosing GE! A: The Height is 47 inches, Width is 30 inches and the Depth is 28 3/4 inches.
Q: Does it come with the power cord attached?
A: Nope. You have to buy the cord and it is recommended/suggested that an electrician does the installation. Best Buy did the installation for me but I already had the outlet ready.
A: Hello, and thanks for reaching out. We hate to hear you have concerns over your new oven – we know that may have caused some worry, and regret any inconvenience. A small amount of smoke is not uncommon the first time a new range is used – this is caused by the heating of new parts, insulation materials, etc. Regarding a chemical taste, that could have been caused by any smoke or odor when you first used it. If the smoke and chemical taste issues haven’t yet been resolved, you might want to run the oven again, and/or follow the cleaning instructions that start on page 18 of the Use and Care manual (which can be viewed on our GE website by looking up the model number). Regarding the sound, we do expect the unit may make ‘crackling’ or ‘popping’ sounds because of the metal heating and cooling. ‘Clicking’ noises are also expected. If you are concerned that the noise you’re hearing is out of the ordinary (or the issue with a chemical taste/smoke hasn’t been resolved) and you think service may be necessary, that department is available at 1-800-432-2737. We hope this information helps. If you have any other concerns or questions, we are always happy to assist. All the best! -Sarah@GEA
Q: Does this range have a downdraft for venting downward not upward?
A: Hello BlueSwede. Thank you for reaching out. This is an excellent question and I'll be happy to help. This range does not have a built-in downdraft system. If you are wanting ventilation for this range, we would recommend you install an over-the-range microwave or vent hood above this range. We hope this helps answer your question and we wish you the best. - Guy@GEA
Q: Does the oven have a timer?
A: No timer
A: Limited warranty included: One year from the original purchase date With some restrictions GE will not cover
