    Expensive cooktop lasted 2 years.

    I was so excited when we bought this. It performed relatively well, looked sleek, but then died. It was barely 2 years old! I know this can happen to any product but the after sales care from GE (Bodewell.com) did not “bode well”. Impossible to get hold of, and continuous rescheduling. We were waiting for 6 weeks before we abandoned the effort all together and purchased a different brand. I want to say that bestbuy was very helpful but ultimately we had to use GE’s after sales care which is a complete disappointment. Do not buy GE.

    Ok performance

    Replaced an older unit. This one has less options for fine tuning temps and power seems less - takes longer to boil.

  • Does this require special cookware?

    We'd like to provide some information on the cookware to use with the model PHP7036DTBB. To ensure the best performance from this cooktop, you'll need to match the pan size with the element size. Cookware larger than the element ring may be used; however, heat will only occur above the element. You'll want to use cookware with heavier bottoms for better heat distribution and even cooking results. Be sure to choose cookware made of magnetic stainless steel, enamel coated cast iron, enameled steel and combinations of these materials. You can find more information on the cookware to use with this cooktop on pages 16-17 of the owner's manual that you can find on the product homepage in the "Features" section under "Manuals & Guides."

  • Can this be flush mounted or inset?

    This PHP7036DTBB model cooktop cannot be flush mounted. -- If you are interested in a flush mounted cooktop, we recommend checking out our Monogram cooktop models ZHU30 & ZHU36. Lauren@GEAppliances

  • I have ann older ge profile cooktop. It is General Electric Cooktop JP660WV1WW. It measures 35 inches in width. If I get a new profile, will it be the same on the bottom to fit in my slot? It is hard to measure without getting the cooktop out.
