  • Features
    • Hard Food Disposer: true (This feature has blades to chop and disintegrate hard food particles, making them small enough to easily drain away. This prevents them from being recirculated back onto dishware and allows for easy maintenance.)
    • Drying Method: Heated drying (Appliances that use heat to dry the dishes will include a heating element or minerals which transform moisture into heat. A fan or vent then circulates the hot dry air throughout the tub during the drying cycle. This may reduce drying time and the risk of water spots. Appliances that use minerals to produce heat are considered more energy efficient than those that include a heating element. Appliances that use condensation drying are considered more energy efficient than those that use heated drying. Instead, high temperature water is produced during the final rinse cycle which warms the interior and eventually condensates and drains out of the machine.)

Q: How much water does this dishwasher use per cycle? What about if we run just the top rack cycle or just the bottom rack cycle - how much water does that use per cycle?

A: Hi Mrspickle- The Normal cycle uses approximately 3.2-6.0 gallons. Water usage will vary based on turbidity (soil level). Approximately the same amount of water is used with Upper/Lower rack options, but cycle time is reduced by about a quarter of the time. Thanks for considering GE Profile! Sue

Q: Where is the steam vent, top or front of dishwasher?

A: Hi DishwasherInquisitor- Thanks for viewing our GE Profile™ Dishwashers! Model PDT825SSJSS has a hidden vent with fan dry. Dishes dry quickly and efficiently with a fan that extracts moisture from the interior. The vent is concealed inside the dishwasher door. This provides a clean appearance, seals in sound during the wash cycle, and protects against venting damage to countertops such as Corian or granite. Air is pulled from the tub with an efficient 10 watt fan. The fan drives the moist air down a condensation tube, where any remaining drops of moisture are released within the door to a moisture proof trough in the lower inner door. By the time the moisture reaches this part of the door, the moisture has been reduced to a few drops. Moisture then drains back into the bottom of the tub and away from the dish load. Keep in touch. We are always eager to provide assistance! SUEatGEA

Q: I need a built-in dishwasher. Will I be able to access the "hidden" controls with this model?

A: Hi HELP- We are excited to hear of your interest in our GE Profile™ Dishwasher PDT825SGJWW! User-friendly top controls complement the sleek look. When the wash cycle is complete, the light will change to green. You'll love your choice. This model features deep clean silverware jets. No matter how you load your silverware basket, powerful jets blast away stuck-on food for silverware that’s always spotless.
