i like the newer version better just because they are smaller and less depth to fit in the electrical boxes. The switch itself works great to have both a physical button present as well as having the ability to operate remotely. This being an add-on switch was slightly difficult to figure out wiring for my 3 way switch but has worked flawlessly since i got it figured out.

Installation was fairly easy for a DIYer. The biggest challenge is that these switches require the neutral to function (the white wire in the back of the box), and when you're wiring up 3 - 5 switches in 1 box, you may need larger wire nuts to bundle all the neutrals together or to separate the neutrals apart to get them functional and safe.

Sure, if the instructions would include EVERY possible configuration of 3 way switches it would have helped, but it only covered one out of nine possible ways the wiring could be configured. Ended up having to return it because after wiring it up correctly it just made a loud clicking noise and flashed the lights on and off. Good thing i'm not epileptic!

They work fine functionally but they don't have an LED indicator like the switches that they control. I would like very much if they had an indicator that could be configured like the master switches.

Works without issue with either the 12 series or 14 series GE Z-Wave switches. A little expensive for what it is but not many options if you want to stick with GE Z-Wave.

This switch is so cool and works great with the time warner system

Exactly what I expected. Works well with my Bright House alarm system, however it is overpriced.

Works as advertised. I have it connected to a 2Gig Alarm.com control panel. It's so nice to automatically control external lights based on the sunrise/sunset. Be warned that this will only work if you have a neutral wire available.

Easy to set up and operate from the smart things app.

Great addition to the security system. It is a must need for a multipole switch.

The switch is added to the GE switch that communicates with a hub. You must use this in addition to the main switch on any light that has more than one switch for the light.

for this Add-on switch to work you need to be using it as the 2nd switch to a 3-way switch

The pairs with the GE z-wave light switch to enable 3-way or 4-way light setups. The only downside is the lack of LED like the main GE switches have.

Love it. Works with Amazon Alexa. Easy to install.

pairs with alexa, love talking to it and have the lights go on.

If you have the GE dimmer and you need a second switch for a three way application, you need this switch. Works perfectly. Just make sure to install this in the deceptively box that has no power from your electric box. The main dimmer goes in the hot location.

Exactly what I wanted. Very easy to pair with the phone app.

I bought two of these to work with another GE smart dimmer switch to have a 3 switch setup in our basement. The two add-on switches can even dim the lights when paired with a dimmer.
