Fun game, a lot like XCOM but with less people to control. Would be nice to have more people and maybe a choice of different weapons for each class. Still a fun game tho... waiting to see if GT 2 will evolve towards my hopes.

Good game - different spin on the GOW universe and surprisingly fits in well even though this is a turn-based, tactical strategy game. Looks excellent on the Series X. I really hope BB continues to sell more digital games at prices and offers competitive with the disc based versions. I would never buy a disc again - the code came within minutes and was seamless.

This is a good game. Plenty of action!! Graphics and weapons are cool

Let me start by saying if your a fan of Gears of War you should play this even if turn based games aren't your favorite. Overall gameplay was a better experience than Halo Wars for me and the story and graphics are great. I didn't initially buy this game because it was on Xbox Game Pass and I wanted to play it first before committing my money to it. I got it on sale for $15 and it's totally worth more than that.

people are wining and complaining that this game is too hard! its too difficult!. well they havent clearly played the XCOM game. these games are as challenging as they come. these will put your patience and your planing to the test! dont be expecting full on gears of war warfare, this is not that. this is a turn based shooting/planning. i forgot what they're called. but yes it is hard to dominate at first, but the more you play the better gear you get the easier it comes for you. its around 40+ hours to finish so i think it is worth the money

The story for this game so far is not bad. The gameplay mechanics ar unlike any other gears game but they are not bad. If you like strategy games, I would recommend this game but if you buy this expecting it to play like normal gears, I would say wait for the next installment in the franchise. Besides, that the story, graphics, and mechanics all look really good. I would have liked to have seen a Halo Wars type of strategy game set in the Gears universe but, I appreciate the gamble they took here.

its a great game if you enjoy this specific style of gameplay, ive only gotten so far but im having a pretty good time. its a major change from other titles ive been playing recently.

Gears Tactics is a turn based strategy game with some RPG elements. The game is a prequel to the regular Gears series. It follows the story of Gabriel Diaz, the father of Kait from the main series. Although I encountered a few bugs, the game is enjoyable. I also think some of the interfaces should have been more streamlined. If you enjoy the story of GoW, you should enjoy the expanded lore this game adds.

This is the biggest surprise of the year for me. I could not imagine the very first Gears Tactics game released would become one of the best games in the genre. There is nothing negative to say about this game, the story is great, characters are great and most important of all gameplay is excellent. I already finished the story but I just can't put it down, and since the rewards for completing missions post campaign are higher I just keep on playing. The gameplay loop is very addictive and satisfying.

Awesome game if you are into real time strategy. It does not play like any of the other games in the series but it is definitely worth it if you are a fan of the series.

New gameplay style here, "Struck my curiosity, so I picked up immediately when it went on sale by using curbside pickup". Requires strategy style gameplay followed by a mix of execution style strategy gameplay, "Nice", once your strategy is determined, gameplay is executed and has beautiful graphic take down cutscenes. Would Recommend for the gears enthusiast.

Gears of War meets Xcom, what's not to love?! Its one of the most solid turn based Games ive played, and ive played just about all of them on consoles. Gameplay is your classic Xcom tactical gameplay, mixed with Gears of War gore and grittiness. Theres a good amount of customization to available, mostly from finding supply crates around the map that contain weapon upgrades for your characters, or new types of body armor, that all have different effects, like extra health, or perk like upgrades like 10% more damage during Overwatch shots. Each character in your squad also gets upgrade points to work towards a pretty good sized skill tree that will give them abilities to change the tide of fights. Theres a lot of new enemies being added throughout the chapters so it keeps everything fresh, but the missions are for the most part very similar and repetitive. As far as plot, the storyline is just a classic Gears story, nothing you haven't seen before if you've played all the gears, but the cut scenes and such look incredible on the Series X. Overall I absolutely love this game. Im sure a lot of people are going to buy it expecting a Gears of War shooter game, and give it bad reviews because of that, but if you like Turn Based games, or Strategy games this, is top notch.

Excellent addition if you're a Die-hard Gears Fan or X-Com Fan and it's a great Strategy RPG to boot as well.

If your a gears of war fan like i am you may enjoy this. It's different than the normal gears game though but that's also not a bad thing i paid a good price for it $4.99 and i had put off buying this but for that price I'm glad i waited. Anyways take a chance on it you may enjoy it

THIS IS NOT A THIRD PERSON SHOOTER. It's a RPG game. Literally, you have to strategize and only get a limited amount of moves for each troop. It's like playing Chess and Risk. The graphics are super smooth and the gameplay is phenomenal. If you feel trying a different approach and are a huge gears of war fan, highly recommend. If you want the third person shooter, this isn't the game for you.

Loved the original Gears series and this one doesn't disappoint. it's been a fun one!
