A GMMK 3 65% Review: A Tech Nut's Keyboard Journey I’ve always been a bit of a tech nerd, but I never really paid much attention to keyboards. I used whatever came with my PC or just used the notebook keyboard. But recently, I decided to dive into the world of mechanical keyboards, inspired by my coworker’s sleek GMMK 3 65% white keyboard. She uses it religiously for work and play. She loves the Glorious brand. It took up so little space in comparison to the full size keyboard that work has for us in the cubicle. Not only that he had his decked out with really cool color keycaps. Lastly, the feel and sound of his switches (the cube under the keycaps) made typing on it feel cool too. I was immediately intrigued and he told me stop touching his keyboard and sent me to Best Buy. I deep dived into the research online then went to Best Buy to check it out. Seems like these just came out, as the reviews aren't up for it. So onto Best Buy.... When I got to Best Buy, I overheard a mom in the gaming aisle buying one for her daughter. I asked her about the board and she shared with me the blog that had it in a top 10 for gaming keyboards. She talked about "its solid build quality and customization options". During the time she was talking to me, I didn't notice she was buying the last one. Come on, lady!! Guess it is popular. It is odd that there weren't more reviews for it. So, I am fixing that with my review. But Best Buy had it for pick up at another store so bought it that way. Here it is...from a Tech Nut's view... A Canvas for Customization The GMMK 3 is like a blank canvas that you can customize to your heart’s content. No wonder it is popular...you can build it like a custom PC. You can swap out keycaps, switches, and even the entire top case. The included Fox switches offer a smooth and satisfying typing experience, but I’m excited to experiment with different switches to find my perfect typing nirvana. I’m thinking of trying out some clicky switches for that satisfying tactile feedback. Aesthetics and the Little Details The minimalist design is sleek and modern. The white colorway is clean and professional, and the RGB lighting adds a touch of personality. The magnetic logo tab is a fun little detail that adds a bit of character. I think I might glue a lego figure of me to it. The overall build quality is impressive, and the keyboard feels solid and durable. The premium build Listen, this isn't your grand father's membrane keyboard. This is different. This is something you can customize and feel good typing on. I say this as I come to understand the words thocky chonky when typing on my new board. You put this in your hands and try to twist and bend it like the black gaming keyboards you won't hear the creaking and cracking (wasn't me Best Buy) with this board. No you won't. Now with that said... The price The price I paid is more than the a cheesy black "productivity" board that will go out in a year. This board you can build on literally. Am I defending that I spent more than a 19.99 cheap plasticky throw away board. Yes. My coworker is happy with hers and now I am happy with mine. So, money well spent. Plus 2 year warranty and extra with registration BUT I Buy the Best Buy warranty personally for most everything. So there you have it. The Verdict If you’re looking for a keyboard that’s both functional and fun, the GMMK 3 is a fantastic choice. It’s a great balance of performance, customization, and aesthetics. While it might be a bit of an investment, the ability to personalize it to your exact preferences makes it worth every penny. Remember if you have to type on it all the time get something premium and that you can make your own. I dig the white board and will go back to Best Buy to check on the keycaps that they have.

Beautiful bright colors. Easy to hit every key accurately even with acrylic nails. Love the subtle clicking sounds.

Looks amazing, and super easy to replace parts instead of buying a new keyboard whenever something breaks over time.

After using this keyboard for several months on my gaming PC, I can say that this is an excellent keyboard at a reasonable price. Taking it out of the box, it had a substantial weight to it. No cheap plastic housing here. It comes with a keycap and switch pulling tool, which is nice because the switches are hot swappable. The switch set it comes with are nice linear switches that feel/sound toward the "thocky" side. They also include a small sample of their other switches so you can see if you prefer a different feel. Also included is a frame pad you can install inside if you want a softer feel for your typing. The companion app for programming it doesn't require you to add it to your startup, so no bloatware worries there. I had a minor glitch with it when I updated the keyboard firmware, but a quick keyboard reset put everything right and all was well from that point forward. It has a max polling rate of 1000 hz, which I find is plenty for playing competitive shooters with. The rotary knob feels solid with clean detents. The RGB lighting is also very customizable via the app, with 3 profiles you can save directly to the keyboard. The profiles can be switched directly via a switch on the keyboard, or electronically through the app. If you're looking for a solid gaming keyboard that works great out of the box with plenty of customizability and an overall good build quality, you won't be disappointed with this keyboard.

Solid keyboard, highly customizable and sounds great right out the box. So far it has withstood 200 hours of ranked r6, if you know how that goes you know how solid this keyboard is.

The keys sound nice and smooth. The RGB software works perfectly. Absolutely love the volume wheel on the upper righthand side, super smooth. The size profile is perfect for gaming, allowing you to have a lot of mouse space. Wanted the black one but compromising and choosing the white was okay too.

This keyboard is great, I wanted a hot swappable keyboard and this one is perfect, it has pretty great rgb and the stock switches are great too. The ones I got are the Fox Linear switches and they’re good but I prefer tactile switches. I think this keyboard is a good bang for your buck if you want something hot swappable, has rgb, and won’t take up so much space on your desk.

I love this keyboard and it’s very changeable. The lighting is a little difficult to figure out and it’s difficult to get patterns.

my son loves this keyboard as it is very responsive and has been a good replacment for his existing keyboards (he has 4-5). This has been the best one so far. I purchase ghe keyboard about a month ago, just found that it is now $20 off. now sure if my bestbuy membership has any price protection

Kinda dissapointed that these were north facing LEDs for this price and the plastic casing. But, overall a decent keyboard to build upon.
