InchIrisInch immediately reached #1 on the Hot 100 Airplay chart upon it's in March from the City of Angels soundtrack, and stayed on top for 18 weeks, setting a record that still stands as of September 2012. The song also reached #1 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart, the Adult Top 40 and Mainstream Top 40 chart, along with several other charts in the U.S and U.K, and included 3 Grammy nominations. It was released in January 1, 1985. The parenthetical InchsInch in the subtitle alludes to the status at the time of InchMargaritavilleInch as Buffett's single large chart hit. Although the album charted at 100 on the Billboard 200, it is currently certified 7x Platinum by the RIAA, making it Buffett's most commercially successful. Despite it's 1985 date, the album only includes songs from 1973 to 1979. Spawning the hits 'Hey Jealousy', 'Until I Fall Away', 'Found Out About You' and 'Allison Road' - New Miserable Experience is the breakthrough album by Gin Blossoms, released on August 4, 1992. The album was released to little fanfare. However, nearly a year after it's the lead single, InchHey JealousyInch, entered the top 40, with InchFound Out About YouInch following a few months later. The album eventually reached multi-platinum status. The band's guitarist, Doug Hopkins, was fired near the conclusion of the recording sessions for the album, ostensibly for his persistent alcohol problems. His replacement, Scott Johnson, is listed as a member of the band in the liner notes, but did not play on the album.
