a lot of the negative Amazon reviews almost swayed me NOT to get this camera. But I’m glad I took the chance and bought it because I haven’t really had any of the issues that most of common complaints seem to be. #1 don’t buy this thing expecting to take extremely long 1 +hour long 360 degree videos, it will take forever to render the video on probably ANY computer. #2 battery life. I bought this in the middle of winter, so I’ve only been using it in cold 10f weather and I’ll get 45 minutes out of one battery (not filling non stop, but rather taking all the short clips I could possibly need) I bought extra batteries and bring them with. I mean, how long do people expect these tiny batteries to last in what’s basically a compact COMPUTER that’s doing an amazing amount of video capturing with two lenses and 6 microphones!?!?!? #3 complaints of software/taking to long to edit or produce a video from footage. Again, if you’re taking extremely long 360 degree video footage, you’re going to be sorely disappointed trying to edit and make a usable video. Use this thing for shorter clips and you’ll be happy. That being said, I did have issues with the Quik app not working on my old android phone, the processor simply wasn’t powerful enough. Go pro should be a little more transparent in making sure the consumer understands that your phone needs to be “up to snuff” in order to use this software. That being said, I was long overdue to upgrade my phone, went with an iPhone, and the go pro quik app has worked pretty much flawless for me. Voice commands work great. Even outdoors with wind blowing and my 5” fat bike tires crunching through icy snow, I’m still able to use the voice commands on this camera. Oh yeah, if you don’t want your lenses to get damaged, USE THE PROTECTORS THAT COME WITH IT. That’s a no-brainer. Yet a repeated complaint I read about lenses being scratched. All in all, I love this camera and wish I got it sooner. It adds a whole new dimension when making first person POV video’s for things like mountain biking, or skiing. And if you get it and it’s not what you thought, return it. You have nothing to lose. I picked this camera up for more creative shooting using the 360º mode. This camera truly doesn't disappoint. Besides using both cameras for 360 mode, you can use the front and back cameras independently in HERO mode by tapping a specific item on the screen. The coolest thing about this camera is being able to re-compose photos after shooting to get either the shot you want or to toy around with cool effects the 360º camera provides, just be aware that there's some stitching the goes on so you may notice a visible line where the 2 photos / videos line up. I also have the Hero 10 Black and have difficulties figuring out which camera to use a t times since the 10 is a much better camera overall, but obviously does not have the dual camera set-up. The only complaint I have of this camera is the protective lenses tend to collect dust quickly and may produce reflections in your shot so you'll need to be aware of the sun and how that might affect your shots. Using the app allows you to create panning videos by setting keyframes to automate your videos but can be a little time consuming. That being said, if you already have a workflow using Quik because you have other GoPro cameras, the MAX is no different and will work seamlessly using that simple app. An additional benefit is if you have the GoPro subscription, this camera is covered (last I checked) by their replacement policy which means you can use it without fear of damaging it with an active subscription so this alone was well worth selecting this camera over the Insta360 (understanding the Insta360 is both newer and takes a much more modern approach). It worked really well I used it to cage dive with sharks , snorkel , and Clift jump ! I just don’t like that sometimes you can accidentally switch it to a different mode after stoping and starting to record cause of the touch screen

Purchased this on sale at Best Buy for snowboading trips with my sons since my GoPro Fusion stopped working after just two seasons yet it had exceeded the warranty period. Overall it performed well, and like most reviewers mentioned, the Max's battery life left more to be desired. I also learn the lens could have moisture build up that ruins the takes, so the cameraman needs to keep wiping them under some conditions. But the camera held up even after a few spills without any protective case.

By car, bicycle, or even looking outside your window, the GoPro Max 360 is amazing! The Max 360’s dual ultra wide cameras are stitched together for a 360° image for photo, videos, and even timelapse. You cannot fully export a 360° video as it was recorded, but you can reposition the image without loss with resolution. It is perfect for driving or looking outside a window with a suction cup mount. I got footage while riding my bicycle with a GoPro handle bar mount. The timelapses and video are used with the 16:9 aspect ratio for YouTube long form videos, and 9:16 aspect ratio for short videos on other social media platforms. Making it the perfect camera for content creators!

Excellent materials, high-quality recording, and great sound; the 360-degree recording captures absolutely everything.

Completely changed my sowboarding videos to look much more professional. Adds a whole new perspective that you can't gety from any other camera. It also works very well with the GoPro Quick app wich makes it very easy to edit and save videos without the need for a computer.

I use this camera daily, getting into content and It’s great. Its hard to mis a shot with the 360 degrees. What you have to look out for is the clipping on either side of the 360 video or picture since there arent cameras on the side, it can come out distorted. The built in mount on the bottom works with a bunch of equipment ive invested in. Overall great action camera.

Great camera so far. I haven’t crashed with it yet to see how durable it is and hopefully I keep it that way. I use it for mountain biking. Image is very clear and stable even over the roughest terrain. Love to voice control system.

GoPro 360 Max The GoPro MAX 360 records 5.6K 360 video, catches great audio, and has many other features that make it a competitive adventure cam. I love recording hikes, bike rides, music festivals, and my kids’ special events. From trying it out this past week, I am confident this camera will capture every detail of my experiences, including me. As the main cameraperson, I rarely come out in shots, so this makes me love the 360 aspects that much more. Camera Build and Accessories First off, the camera is a 2.75”x2.75”x1” block that weights .34lbs. It is encased in a rubbery material that makes it easy to grip, except for the side that the long battery cover is on. It is waterproof up to 16ft. The battery compartment additionally houses the charging port and memory card slot. The camera includes a small touch screen, roughly 4mmx2mm, that can rotate in all four directions. It automatically goes to sleep after 1min whether recording or idle, a setting that can be changed. Both lenses come with cover caps, which I struggle endlessly to remove and to not loose. I really wish GoPro came up with a better solution to protecting the lenses because I know I will lose them eventually and do not want to end up with scratched lenses. I am probably going to have to buy some extra to have on hand, as I have already misplaced them a few times. The accessories included are a thick drawstring bag to keep the camera in, and 18” USB-C to USB-C charger, and an adhesive helmet clamp. Intuitive Use The camera comes with two buttons, the power button and the shutter button. The power button requires press-and-hold to power on and off. When it is on, it is used to toggle between time lapse, video, and camera mode. The buttons have a high degree of resistance to them, thus cannot be easily triggered by accident. The touch screen offers quick-access settings, such as focal length, regular, 360 mode, front/back camera, and a customizable setting. Further settings can be customized, from ISO to white balance, within a settings menu. App All of the settings can also be customized using the GoPro Quick app. It allows for shutter control, as well as preview mode to remotely control the camera. It also has a livestream mode which gives access to GoPro.com, Facebook, YouTube, Twitch, and RTMP. Additionally, it includes a cloud service subscription that can automatically load media to its cloud. The app is the only way I have found I can view media besides inserting the memory card into a computer, as I see no way to do that within the camera itself. Clips can easily be made of videos, along with snapshots of scenes. With 360 videos and stills, the angles can be moved to look at particular areas. Connectivity with the app is basically seamless. I have various cameras (photographic and a previous GoPro) and have not experienced quicker connection thus far. Downloading media, even long videos, is also quite quick. Battery The battery on a full charge is set to last about 6hours. It appears accurate as I have not had a need to recharge it, even after a day recording various times in 360. Quality of Media The quality of the pictures and videos is fantastic. It provides crisp, clear results with accurate colors that match what we see with the naked eye. It is important to remember to change the ISO max in low-light settings though, I did not realize it had this setting until I took a video in the evening and the lighting was too low. Since the camera contains stabilizing technology, bumps, wiggles, and unintended movements during recording get filtered out, resulting in a smooth video. The setting for stabilizing the horizon further helps to give an eye-pleasing result. Quality of Sound The camera picks up sound sharply and clearly. Everything going on can be heard, even when I talked in a low voice thinking it wouldn’t get recorded, and it contains a wind reduction setting as well. Selfie-Stick Elimination The camera comes with technology that automatically removes the selfie stick when taking 360 still shots. I have not found it to work when taking regular shots or during videos though. The only downside is that you end up with missing fingers, so you just have to pick an angle that does not show that hand. Conclusion Overall, I am beyond thrilled with the results and ease of use of the GoPro Max 360. Besides the nuisance of the easy-to-lose lens caps, I have no complaints. I have been enjoying the results and memories I am creating with this camera and the fact that I don’t have to remember to include myself in these memories because the camera does it automatically.

Great product with an overwhelming number of options and add ons to get the right shot you’re looking to capture. 360 view is a little mind blowing and it’s funny to see what it actually captures. The software is slick, both on desktop version and iOS. Pics were captured from the device from a recent trip and I was not disappointed.

Best go pro I have used so far. I love recording my motorcycle rides.
