This is a great piece to have. Go pro is back ! The 1inch sensor was very much needed. Only part that bothers me is when taking and image or when lowlight is enabled the preview can look blurry or not in focus but when shot is taken it looks as if the camera is taking a sec or so to adjust then capture I think this can be fixed either way a software update otherwise enjoy it

Absolutely love this camera. The stabilization is incredible, and the video quality is crystal clear even when I'm on the move. It’s rugged, waterproof, and perfect for capturing every adventure. Highly recommend!

If you have owned a GoPro before, the learning curve with the GoPro MISSION 1 PRO will be very simple. The controls, menus, and overall user experience feel familiar, and all of my existing GoPro attachments fit. That is a major advantage because there is no need to replace an entire collection of mounts and accessories when upgrading. The 8K sensor feels like a step into the future, although most of my shooting is still done in 4K because none of my current devices can fully take advantage of 8K video yet. Even so, the higher-resolution sensor provides excellent detail and gives creators more flexibility for cropping, reframing, and editing footage. Shooting in 4K at 240 frames per second looks absolutely amazing. The video is incredibly smooth, detailed, and cinematic. Dropping down to 1080p at 480 fps is also excellent for slowing down fast-moving subjects in nature. Filming a hummingbird, for example, allows you to see nearly every flap of its wings in crisp slow motion, provided you are filming from the proper distance. One of my main dislikes is the minimum focusing distance of approximately 23.6 inches. Because the camera also does not have a strong optical zoom, getting sharp macro-style footage is extremely difficult. In my hummingbird video, the bird is slightly out of focus because I moved too close while trying to capture a super-slow-motion close-up without a dedicated macro lens. I am definitely looking forward to the day a compatible macro lens is released. The burst slow-motion mode is another impressive feature. It captures a roughly 10-second clip that can become several minutes of footage when played back at up to 960 fps. I used this mode to film falling water, and the result created a very cool cinematic effect that revealed movement and detail that would normally be impossible to see with the naked eye. The time-lapse performance is also excellent. With minimal editing using only the GoPro Quik app, I was able to capture a beautiful view of the Milky Way moving across the night sky. Daytime time-lapses are smooth, crisp, and usable with little to no editing. The colors and contrast look accurate and well balanced straight out of the camera, which saves a lot of time when putting together a finished video. The 50-megapixel photo mode performs about as expected. There is plenty of detail, and shooting in RAW provides excellent flexibility for anyone planning to edit their images. The sample photo of my dog was captured using the standard settings and looks very natural directly out of the camera. Sound quality is another strong point. The four built-in microphones provide good depth and produce surprisingly clear audio for such a compact creator camera. The GoPro Quik app is fairly basic, but it works well for quick and simple edits. Additional tools and features are available through a subscription, although the included options should be enough for casual editing and sharing. The camera is waterproof to 66 feet, which is far deeper than I would ever need for normal swimming or snorkeling. Still, I appreciate being able to place the camera directly into the water without purchasing or carrying an additional waterproof housing. Overall, I definitely recommend the GoPro MISSION 1 PRO as an upgrade for anyone who already owns GoPro equipment. The ability to capture smooth, cinema-quality movement at multiple frame rates, combined with its time-lapse, burst slow-motion, photography, audio, and underwater capabilities, makes it an extremely versatile creator camera. A macro lens and improved close-focusing ability would make it even better, but it is already an exciting and capable addition to a GoPro collection.

This GoPro Mission 1 Pro, is a huge step of an upgrade coming from the GoPro Hero 12, and more so the Hero 8 (I had both). One thing I can say from comparing from the last GoPro being the 12 is they use the “Enduro” battery giving it a name I guess specifically made for the 12 and also the 11 and 10. From backtracking to my previous footage from bike riding in SF with the Hero12, and only having one battery at the time, I recorded a total of 56 minutes with it as the battery just went dead, but with intervals of 5-7 minutes of just standby after turning off recording, and turned it off once taking a break for a good 15 before resuming. This was from 4:20pm up until 6:30 pm with having 6 videos with 2 videos being 19 and 21 minutes while the rest 2 and 7 minutes – and this is with the camera’s Bluetooth connection off, no front screen but back screen going to sleep (but still recording) after a good 5 min I recall, Standard Video mode with resolution set at 1080p with 60fps and I believe with the Hyper Smooth stability on, and didn’t have a care of the voice commands so that was left off. So on the Mission 1 Pro, a day after unboxing the camera of course first step was updating the firmware which you must get the Quik App and do definitely need an SD card (you won’t be able to bypass that at all for the update so I had a 256gb one that I still had laying around) and fully charging the Enduro 2 battery overnight being a 2150 mAh and faster charging battery than the original Enduro battery (1720 mAh). You supply your own USB C charging adapter (and this comes with a USB-c cable, not USB-A to C like previous models but a USB C cable that usually tends to have higher watts for fast charging). I noticed one video mode being Sport POV which would seem useful maybe if you’re a biker, or BMX rider though not so sure about my case just having done casual bicycle riding. So, the next day I have done local in town bike riding and used the same settings used last time but left it at 4k resolution at 30fps and recording for about an hour, and 20 minutes without turning off record or standby that much. Maybe once or twice and then taking a break at a local Starbucks– So from the beginning with the battery at 98% at first and thereafter stopping for a drink, I got still a good 54% battery left. That’s impressive and worthy of an upgrade. The Mission 1 Pro still works with other mounts and accessories and even The Remote being a wrist worn remote for the Go Pro’s which I still have and even is compatible with the Mission 1 Pro; it’s been a year since last used and still had some battery so I have paired which also has undergone an update through the camera as well, which took a number of tries after failing once so had done a factory reset and was fully updated on the second try, and works as it should. There may or may not be a caveat being with the camera size and weight, and that’s 7.4 oz with the lens protector on; my previous Hero 12 is 5.4 oz and you can feel the difference and it is a bit wider and probably a bit more depth. It does save a bit of time and hassle as oppose to having an extended power bundle for example a 2-battery charger with 2 batteries being 3 total and swapping the battery out – yet some vloggers have simply content that is not as much as an hour long but clips of 5 – 10 minutes so while it wasn’t an issue for some, there are always those that want more battery life. And this Mission 1 Pro is it and in conclusion I think this will serve the needs for those creating content of a near more professional level.

GoPro has been the standard for many years now as the go-to for on-the-go video capture (over 20 years now, I believe). The Mission 1 Pro is here now, and will undoubtedly maintain their reputation as leader of the pack. First off, the unit itself is quite the little jewel. Just by the initial observation, one can see the polish of the finish, the clean simplicity of the design, and the compactness of the package that houses a quite powerful tool for today's action packed videographer. Setup for the Mission was simple and effortless, as was connecting with the app. I did spend a couple of minutes working the battery door, it took a bit of effort to pry the door open, but I was being overly careful so as not to damage a new piece of equipment. A slide switch would've been helpful, but I imagine that would betray the overall simplicity and cleanliness of the exterior. It also did take a couple of tries to get the camera connected to the app, but all in all, we were up and running within 15 minutes. Once I played with it for a bit doing indoor shots, I was anxious to get out and do some motion shots, the easiest thing for me was to just open the door and "let the dogs out." I have a quite large and energetic Great Pyrenees along with a Retriever, they love playing with each other, and most of their time in the yard is going at full tilt. I've always been fascinated with their gait, the Pyrenees is like watching a miniature race horse at full gait. I'm not one to dwell on manufacturer specs; however, from what I understand, the upsized and upgraded sensor of the Mission is what makes this the next level of GoPro performance. Watching the recorded video, I was quite impressed with the image stabilization, certainly leaps and bounds away from my phone (S24 Samsung), or any video recorder I've owned. Next thing I was interested in was time lapse at night. I set the Mission outdoors overnight, as lately I've had a solitary deer that's been making a salad bar out of my bed of Hosta plants. While I do have some outdoor lighting, it's not pitch black, but security cameras I have need to switch to infrared to get a decent picture of any intruders. I was really impressed with the low light performance of the Mission, being able to distinguish colors as opposed to the black & white I've always associated with night shots. I'm just beginning to enjoy this beautiful piece of equipment, and will be shopping soon for accessories. I did get lens protectors, and a carry bag, next up will be for a handheld grip, and... oh yeah... a dog harness! Credit to GoPro for their work in bringing the Mission to marketplace, tiny as this unit is, I think I'll be toting it along on my daily routine, because - you never know!

As a photographer and videographer by trade, I am constantly acquiring and testing camera equipment to help me achieve my goals with uncompromising clarity. Whether it’s a full frame camera for photography, a drone for aerial use, or an action camera for b-roll shots, having gear that helps me achieve my vision is paramount to my overall success as a content creator. The all new GoPro Mission 1 series of cameras have some intriguing features that I have personally been waiting for, for a very long time. Rather than go into every specification of the camera in extreme detail, which has already been done ad-nauseam, I will focus on how it works for me, and what I think could be updated in a future release. For starters, the one inch sensor is one of the top features I have been waiting for in a robust action camera. As a full frame photographer, the one feature that has been a constant battle with action cameras in the past has been low light performance. GoPro has finally given users a one inch sensor with a respectable bit rate, depth, and LOG shooting mode. The Mission 1 is capable of 10-bit color, 240Mbps video bit rate, and GP-Log2. These are all welcome additions for those of us that prefer to color grade our own footage. They have also included other standard color profiles, such as flat and cinematic, for those of us that want to shoot and upload quickly. I have found that I personally jump between LOG and cinematic depending on what I am shooting and both look really nice. Having the flexibility to shoot in LOG mode for certain scenarios is absolutely awesome with this camera. The one inch sensor coupled with 10-bit color and LOG shooting has made the new Mission 1 a permanent and welcome fixture in my bag. While I primarily shoot with a full frame interchangeable lens cinematic camera, the GoPro Mission 1 has proven itself to be a worthy second b-roll camera for all of the shots I simply cannot get with my other camera. GoPro claims the new Mission 1 has 14 stops of dynamic range. In my testing I have found that while shooting in LOG2 mode, as with most cameras, a modest amount of recoverable information is available if the in-camera settings were correct while shooting. It is always easier to pull shadows, than reclaim highlights, so I tend to shoot a bit underexposed, or perfectly exposed if possible. Shooting with this in mind, has made working with the Mission 1, the best experience I have had with an action camera to date. The low light is much improved over previous versions and allows users to shoot more confidently indoors and at night. This camera is a bit on the large size for an action camera, but that is to be expected with a larger sensor. The size also means a bigger screen that is easier to see and read. The menu system is fast and extremely easy to navigate once you get the hang of it. All of the shooting modes are present and can be accessed easily by swiping left or right on the screen. These modes can be modified to taste very easily and users can create and save their own custom shooting modes to add to the list. You can then select, or turn on and off, only the modes you want to show when swiping, making camera setup very fast before going out to shoot. These modes include Time-lapse, Slow Motion, Water, and Low light, to name a few. One thing that is great about the stock modes, is that you can easily modify them to taste based on your personal preferences and the Mission 1 will automatically overwrite and save them accordingly. Another feature I really appreciate is the lock screen mode. This is great to have, as I was constantly touching the screen and changing the shooting modes at first. Once this is set, if you touch the screen, a slider will show up at the top of the screen to unlock and change settings. Are you creating a video time-lapse? Thankfully, the Mission 1 allows users to not only shoot a time-lapse with photos, or video, but you can even shoot both at the same time, creating instant gratification for social media uploads if you simply can’t wait. Are you shooting underwater? There is a preset for that. The water preset on the Mission 1 uses a new white balance algorithm that eliminates the WB issues from older action cameras. I have tried shooting with the Mission1 in a pool and the results were really great. Especially coupled with the crazy slow motion capabilities. Splashes and jumps into the pool while recording slow motion underwater had the kids laughing hysterically! Which leads me to… Arguably, the feature that has me most excited about the Mission 1, are the extreme slow motion shooting modes. I am happy to report that in my limited testing, the slow motion shooting capability of this camera is off the charts impressive. Having the ability to shoot 4K at 120fps on an action camera, is absolutely incredible. What's even crazier than that, is that this camera can shoot 10 second burst slow motion clips in 1080p at 960fps! I have tried this a few times and the results are mind blowing. Splashing water almost stands still and the clarity, in the right lighting environment, is sharp and detailed. The possibilities are endless for this type of use. My next trip for some 960fps goodness is going to be a top fuel dragstrip to get some crazy burnouts. What about the open gate feature? This is another extremely welcome shooting mode that allows users to shoot a 4:3 aspect ratio in 8K so post cropping for wide screen, or vertical social media presentation is achievable from the same high resolution clip. In my humble opinion, this is a feature that cannot be understated and should be standard on all capable cameras moving forward. I personally plan on using the open gate feature for drone use so I can crop either direction with the footage from a single flight. Just keep in mind, you will eat up plenty of hard drive space shooting 8K. Are there some things that I would change if I could? First and foremost, the minimum focus distance of this lens is roughly two feet. Being that this is a wide angle fixed lens, getting close subjects in focus will require modification by attaching a separate lens adapter. GoPro does not currently offer any first-party lenses for the fixed lens version of the Mission 1 Pro. I have found that when recording my kids, I need to keep more of a distance than I would prefer for them to be in focus, so I will be first in line for any lenses that they release. What would be even more incredible, would be an action camera that has variable aperture and tap focus, but I know that is probably still a few years away. GoPro is famous for action cameras, but they’re making a big shift. The Mission 1 Pro is the first step towards creator/cinematic camera. Action camera: When it comes to action shots the 1 pro is excellent, it continues the hyper-smooth video stabilization GoPro is known for. The slow motion is still amazing even offering 960 FPS at 1080, and it captures every detail, like the individual droplets falling from my kids’ hair while swimming. Creator camera: The new 1 inch sensor and 50 megapixel camera combine to record in 8k, 4k and 1080 and all above 60 FPS. The upgrades let you shoot at night, which is something that was sadly missing in all previous GoPro’s. When it comes to videos in the night the Mission 1 Pro does good capturing color and motion. You will need to tweak the settings for items in the distance in low light, the default setting and preset scenes have too much noise. Post editing is still needed to perfect night shots , however the camera does such a great job capturing details that editing it much easier. The mics on the camera are good, everything comes in loud and clear. Software/hardware: GoPro has updated its processor with the GP3 and it is fast, the video processing works great along with HDR and subject matter tracking. Even when shooting in 8k for extended periods of time the camera did not shut down or becoming scorching hot. The camera is FAST is every respect, even waking from sleep was quick. The touchscreen is responsive and bright enough to view in any light. You can adjust just about any setting from the camera or use GoPros preset modes, I found the cinematic preset being a nice choice for a lot of my recordings. I also appreciated that every setting toggle has a detailed description for beginners. The phone app works great to transfer files to your connected device and is easy to navigate. One of the best changes GoPro made was BIGGER buttons, while this seems like such a small change that is a huge life improvement when you have the camera mounted or are using it underwater. Overall the Mission 1 Pro is an amazing video camera, it takes great videos and record above average audio. With settings at their preset levels I would give this camera a 4.5 however with minor adjustments and editing this camera is truly amazing and once you edit everything on a computer the Mission 1 Pro is a must have for all creators.

Wow, the Mission 1 GoPro is the ultimate action camera. On first boot up, it required an update and then it was up and running. I opted for the GoPro Premium plan because it was half off the first year ($29.99) and it seemed like a great deal. It includes unlimited cloud storage for GoPro videos and 100GB for non-GoPro recordings. The camera also has an option of voice activated recording, which is handy if you will wear it on a helmet. Video comes out ultra smooth, even when recording is originally shaky I believe the GoPro Quik app adds value to the camera, because you can fully control the camera and view the live stream. The app also allows for seamless editing to include AI assisted edits with customizable themes and songs. It can do edits while you charge it. Giving it access to your phone, it'll also auto edit other media you have stored on your device. There are many modes like Subject Tracking (follows you around within the frame), Low-Light, Slo-Mo, Sport POV, Photo, and Lapse. The audio is fine, as expected for an action camera. It does not come with accessories. I am very impressed. Battery life lasted me close to 3 hours on and off at 4k 30. Highly recommended!

The camera is the most capable GoPro to date. The quality of the upgraded sensor is evident when compared to older Hero cameras. Video has a deeper and richer appearance which is a testament to the not only the sensor but also the upgraded processor. The question of upgrading is a bit tricky. I have the Hero 7, 10, and 13. The Mission One Pro is a major upgrade from the 7 and the 10. But unless the new slo-mo features and resolution bumps are necessities, then this new camera may not be worth the cost of upgrading from the Hero 13. That being said, the Mission One Pro is a triumph for GoPro.

I have both DJI and GoPro and this one finally has beat all of my other cameras. Did a massive trip from Alaska to Ohio and this performed extremely well. The build quality is excellent and the 8k in this is very comparable to some lower end mirrorless just with the wide angle always on.

The image quality on this camera is excellent. The high speed 1080 mode is borderline ridiculous in the best way, and the 4K high speed options hold up just as well. If you shoot a lot of slow motion footage, this thing delivers. The log profile is the standout for me. GP-Log2 gives a ton of dynamic range to work with in post, more than I expected out of an action camera in this price range. Where it fell apart was focus. The 1 inch sensor is a real upgrade over a typical action cam sensor, but it comes with a tradeoff: the focus distance isn’t fixed at infinity the way older GoPros are, so depending on what you’re shooting, parts of the frame can end up out of focus. That’s not something I could work around for how I use it, so I ended up returning it. Great image quality and a capable log profile, but the focus behavior tied to that bigger sensor was a dealbreaker for me.

This for a me a local Model photographer #studiobymike so far i love it. for bts footage of my models and shoots . i have so much fun with this product plan on getting more parts to go with it to be even more creative. the quik app is ok . its very slow wish there where more option for being able to create different clips yet overall im in love ..

We took the mission one pro to Italy. It did great especially in the low light settings of the blue grotto. I’d highly recommend the camera as the quality is great. The go pro app even edited the videos for us which was great.

Received the Mission Pro 1 last week as an upgrade from my Hero 12 and 13 (I’m still keeping those). I love the features and ease of use as always. Quality is 100% and the images / video are amazing. Would recommend to anyone! Can’t wait to see what else will be released in the future from GoPro.

50 MPix makes very nice stills. Use the Linear mode to prevent paralax. I shot 4k,30 video which is very nice, the same as the GoPro13. Way better for stills then the 13.
