I’ve never played the first game in this series, so I was excited when I heard of this remake. I’ve put nearly 30 hours into this game so far and I’m still not done. I’ve been having a blast, though there are bugs. My least favorite bug is the one that happens several times to me in a single play session - when all the sound stops and you can’t hear when enemies creep up on you. A simple save, closing, and reopening the game works in resetting this bug when it does happen. And be prepared for a rough ride as this game isn’t easy. It pretty much throws you to the wolves, no fast travel, you have to place your own map markers AFTER you purchase maps for each area. The challenge is part of the charm in my opinion. It’s the sort of game that might make you rage quit and then return to it a few hours later. If you are looking for a challenge, or looking to relive some nostalgia, then I would recommend this game to you.

If you are a die-hard fans of the original or a lover of unapologetically difficult RPGs (like Elden Ring or Dragon's Dogma), this is a game for you. However, if you want a polished or bug-free experience you may want to wait for patches.

Love this remake. Still has the look and feel of the original. Hopefully, the others in the series get remade as well!
