Love the easy charging of this battery and that it only takes 30 minutes!

Wanted to love this system. The lawn mower is great, but the batteries don’t last. They just stop being recognized by the charger. This one lasted less than a year. It reads half charged, but the charger and mower give an error when trying to use.

Hello Suji. Thank you for sharing your experience with the 80 Volt 4Ah Battery. We are glad to hear the mower itself has performed well, but we are sorry to learn about the issue you are experiencing with the battery. This is not typical performance, especially within the first year of use. Our 80V batteries are covered by a limited warranty, and we strongly recommend contacting Greenworks with your proof of purchase and the battery’s serial number so the unit can be evaluated. They can be reached either using the online chat function, on Greenworks Tools page, accessible by clicking “Chat Now” in the bottom corner of your screen, Chat with a Live Agent or by calling 1-888-909-6757. In the meantime, ensure the battery terminals are clean and free of debris, and allow the battery to return to room temperature before attempting to charge if it was recently used. We hope this helped. <img src="https://s3.amazonaws.com/stratos-logos/logos/GreenworksTools.png" alt="GreenworksTools" title="GreenworksTools" style="display: block !important; margin-top: 2em !important; border: 1px solid #ccc !important; padding: 2px !important; background-color: white !important;" />

First, I took advantage of a member-only special price and got a free 2Ah battery. Bought this to replace a corded snow-joe blower that worked, but dealing with a 100' extension cord in snow and sub freezing temps is a pain! Used this a few days during a recent storm (I live in central Colorado), and it performed as expected. No, it's not going to throw snow 20+ feet regularly, and it seems to work best with about 5-8" of snow. Yes, it will shoot snow from middle of my two-car suburban-sized driveway to the yard. It will leave a trace of snow underneath, but nothing to worry about. I love that the "blades" are made of thick rubber (like a car tire) instead of plastic, as they won't necessarily get damaged when picking up a stray rock. I live on a corner lot, typical suburban setting with sidewalks on two sides, plus my driveway. I can clear about 75% of it all on one 4Ah battery Assembly isn't difficult, but instructions are worthless! I recommend a second 4Ah battry for best run time. As others have suggested, keep charger and batteries in the house, not the garage - cold batteries don't last nearly as long! Spray the chute with cooking spray regularly, to keep it from getting clogged with the heavy/wet snow. Gas powered machines WILL have more horsepower than battery machines, so don't expect this to be the same. All that being said, and aside from horrible assembly instructions, my only "wish" would be to have the ability to turn the headlights on or off as needed, and to be able to turn the lights on without actually running the machine. Other than that, it's a solid machine and built well. I recommend!

My Greenworks bundle of mower, weed eater, and blower arrived with only one battery - $500. The battery lasts 45min mowing and charges in 1hr. The extra battery cost 50% what the entire set cost… SMH but I don’t have to deal with gasoline

I'm not sure why, but Lowes stopped carying Greenworks products so I got this battery from Best Buy. This version of the battery is much better than the ones that usually come with the tools out of the box. It is a bit pricey, though.

Bought a spare battery for my mower (plan to get a snowblower that works with this too). Battery life is good so far. Seems to be about one hour use for the mower if I use self propel sparingly. Charger fan is loud, but it recharges pretty quickly.

I have a 12,000 sq ft property (0.28 acres – 80’ by 150’) with a house and 2-car garage/driveway so the actual mowing area is less than 12,000 sq ft. My lawn slopes slightly in the back. I purchased a second 4 Ah battery (battery being reviewed) as a precaution so that I would not have to worry about recharging a battery to completely mow my lawn. I use self-propel quite a bit and set it just past halfway. My lawn is thick and grows rapidly in the spring. First mowing (April 14) - I charged the battery being reviewed and it went from 2 bars (factory charge) to fully charged in 35 minutes. The entire yard took 55 minutes to mow and the battery died while self-propelling back to the garage. I was pleased that I only needed one battery to mow the entire yard. I set the deck height to 6 to mow. I now need two batteries to mow my 0.28 acre yard because a battery lasts just over 30 minutes. I use one battery for 32 minutes and the second battery for 23 minutes so that neither battery fully discharges. The mower box says that the mower cuts up to 1/2 acre using one battery with a run-time of 45 minutes and a recharge time of 60 minutes. I suppose during a hot summer when the grass gets dry, it may be possible to cut up to 1/2 acre on one charge but cutting 1/2 acre in 45 minutes seems overly optimistic. I thought that having two 4 Ah batteries would give me sufficient margin for my 0.28 acre property, but both batteries drop to one bar of charge to complete my yard. I even disengage the self-propel at times to minimize battery use. Any tips from Greenworks to maximize battery performance and get the most years of use from the batteries are appreciated. The grass was dry each time I mowed, although the blades of grass are moisture-filled based on the damp clippings under the deck. I have not used the Turbo button and just let the mower auto-sense when it needs to increase the blade speed. The batteries take about 45 minutes to recharge. Hopefully, when the grass grows more slowly during hot weather, I'll be able to mow my entire 0.28 acre yard with plenty of battery life to spare. Time will tell...

Hello Carl. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and review!
We are sorry to hear that the unit has not fully met your expectations. Runtimes can vary depending on a few factors, including but not limited to if the self-propel feature is used throughout the entire cut, grass texture and consistency, cutting height, and lawn size. If you would like to address your concerns directly with one of our product specialists first, please contact us by chatbot through the customer contact page located on our website or call Greenworks Pro toll-free helpline at 1-855-345-3934 or before returning to the store. I purchased this a second battery for my snow blower. Charging time is approx. 1 hour. It runs for about 45 minutes going through 5 inches of medium snow. Great for the peace of mind if the real big snow comes. and I'll need more battery for longer plow times.

Charges fast, battery lasted longer than I expected. Grass was tall due to lots of recent rain and mowed the yard with power to spare. I’d buy it again.

We purchased this battery as an additional one to one that came with a Greenworks snow blower. It came in quite handy when we experienced a snowstorm that dumped nearly a foot of snow in our area. Because of the additional battery, we were able to shovel our driveway, front door, and sidewalk which went around the corner. If you purchase a Greenworks product, consider buying an extra battery. Make sure that the battery meets your power requirements (e.g. don’t buy a 60 volt battery when an 80 volt battery is needed)
