It is a powerful tool that pushes snow straight forward. However, it is heavy equipment. Therefore, need a shoulder strap to alleviate the heaviness. Also, the battery will last for some time, but it has a supercharger that charge fast. I use this tool for my front garage and back deck.

Used my electric cordless shovel for the first time and am pleased with my purchase. Very easy to charge and use. It only sprays snow forward, but it shoots it pretty far. It is a bit heavier than I thought it would be, but was easier and quicker than traditional shoveling.

This is the best! Cleared 8 inches of snow effortlessly off of my deck for my dogs. Charge lasted through the whole job. Another great Greenworks product!

This thing is very powerful for a 12 inch shovel… The 80 volt batteries are very powerful… To give you an idea, I was able to do 2.5 driveways in about 1.5 hours… The driveways being about 40 foot long & three lanes wide. The snow was about 4 inches deep. It will easily throw light snow about 20 feet into the air… I would say this is a very nice alternative to having a huge $1500 snowblower that sits in your garage for eight months and doesn’t get used. You definitely cannot go wrong at the $239 sale price. That being said, do not pay retail… Wait ‘till it goes on sale. Definitely a keeper!

Hello. I purchased to get the snow off the deck. Our first snow was the day prior Nd left 14” it took me some time but this power shovel really did the job. Recharged the battery three times but got it done. Inalso used it for a 1” dusting on the driveway. Made it easy. I will say it is a heavy tool but necessary to keep it on the groud while using. I would buy this item again or as a gift.

This works a lot better than i expected. With one battery and 3+"'s of heavy wet snow i can almost get the entire drive way and sidewalk cleared. Luckily i have 2 batteries, though when the first is empty im usually ready for a break anyways.

Bought this on sale for 269.00. Just used this on the snowfall we had yesterday. I would have never been able to lift a shovel with this heavy snow. Best investment ever. Get it, you won't regret it.

It looks kind of cheap since it's mostly plastic, but don't let that sway you. It works well. It really throws the snow - wet or fairly deep or thick! As a female, I thought it was a little heavy to lift to do the steps but I did it. To just plain shovel, it was easy!

I bought this for light snow work and very pleased with the performance. We had about 2 inches of snow when i first used it and it threw the snow effortlessly. Granted the snow was not a heavy wet snow, but it performed as expected. THe second test was wet heavy snow at the bottom of the driveway from the plows. It too was only a few inches, but it threw the wet stuff no problem. The 80V batteries seem to be pretty powerful and has very good run time. On the down side it only throws the snow straight. This model is not the one that has what Greenworks calls the "directional vane control knob" where you can adjust the direction of the snow that is being thrown. Also with the battery it is a little heavy. With that said i would still recommend this tool as a compliment you a snowblower. I use it on the patio as well as on the grass to create paths for my small dog.

I purchased this to replace my old gas powered snow blower. I had a chance to really use it in a 12" snow that we were hit with and it did well. One criticism (which I was aware of before I bought it) is that it doesn't have vanes to direct the snow. This would be helpful when doing a sidewalk so it could throw it off to the side. However, this blower throws snow REALLY far (20-30 feet) so it wasn't a major issue. It can also feel a bit heavy after a while if you are picking it up a lot to do lots of different places (sidewalk, deck, driveway) but fine when you can just push it on paved surfaces and you aren't carrying the weight. Battery life is good and varies with heaviness of the snow. Recharge time is quick. Very happy overall!

The Greenworks power shovel is amazing. It really shines while doing sidewalks, decks and around smaller sensitive areas. I reside in Upstate New York where snow is abondant. I've recommended this product to family and friends, who have purchased one themselves after trying mine. The power shovel saves massive amounts of time and energy removing large amounts of snow. Only down side is that the Greenworks power shovel is slightly heavy for older or smaller individuals. Other than that its absolutley a must have in the snow removal arsenal. Also the the 80v 2AH battery is great. It holds a good charge with full power throughout its use (no diminishing power). The whole product took 5 minutes to assemble (easy). The rapid charger is also a great addition, for when you need just a little more time to get your job done. Awesome product, cant recommend enough

We have a corner property with about 300 feet of perimeter sidewalk to shovel. I’ve done it manually with a plain snow shovel for years, but that’s gotten old as I’ve gotten older. I researched Consumer Reports for top power shovels, and this one was #1, so I figured I’d give it a try. The price point wasn’t bad at $325 since most snowblowers start at $1,200, and I didn’t mind having to do the shoveling if I could get some powered assistance. We recently had a decent snowfall in the Philadelphia area, and I put this shovel into service. I think it performed admirably, I was able to clear what I needed in about 2 hours, faster than I could by hand, and that includes a break for recharging the battery. My observations are… One the plus side: - the thing is a beast, it can move snow quickly, throwing it about 20 feet - it can get down to pavement or close to it - it can break up tromped down ice, but that takes a some extra effort and time - the 80v battery lasts about 45 +/- minutes, which is great - the fast charger included with this kit recharges the battery in less that a half hour - if you have accumulation taller than a foot, you can pick it up & shave off the top and then throw the remainder - it’s surprisingly quiet On the neutral side: - it’s 19 pounds so there is a fair amount of physical exertion, but it moves snow faster than I would manually. - I think I put in a similar amount of work compared to manually shoveling, but it went faster (it is a power shovel, not a snow blower) On the minus side: - on my unit, the secondary handle tightening bolt’s threads seemed too shallow to keep the tightener screw from engaging, so that handle kept slipping or falling apart. I remedied this by wrapping electrical tape around the bolt threads for a better grip. I plan to contact Greenworks to see if they can provide replacement parts for this. - there’s no directional vanes for the direction of the snow throw. This matters depending on the direction of the wind, and whether you’re advancing toward an area you’ve already cleared. Greenworks acknowledges this and recommends angling the shovel toward the direction you want the snow to go. On the whole, I think this shovel is well worth the investment. It’s well made, it’s powerful, the battery lasts a long time, the charger charges quickly so you can take a short break and get back to work. This is exactly what I wanted from a power shovel.

Very powerful, throws the snow a good distance. Works good with both wet or dry snow, but less effective with ice as with all power snow shovels. Distance of throw is excellent. Lack of directional control is unfortunate, but can work around that by angling your approach. This is a sturdy machine, but it is heavy, you will use a little more muscle than with some lighter units, but those typically have a shorter throw distance, so consider which is an advantage for you. We have bought two shovels. Not for use with gravel drives, but works great on paved areas and decking. Have had for a month, and used for two snowfalls, cleared nicely with a wet 6" deep snowfall. Clears right down to the surface, leaving little is any snow behind. I would recommend and buy again.

This snow shovel works great and the battery life is very good. I had read in other reviews that the snow shovel is heavy and I would have to agree with that. I have a paver driveway and the shovel will sometimes get hung up on uneven pavers. Overall I think it does a very good job

It’s heavier than I thought it would be. Wish I noticed you can’t change the direction of where the snow is thrown. Battery charges fast though, and it did it’s job in Ohio snow

I'm fairly impressed. I'm new to battery operated yard machines. The first couple snowfalls have not slowed it down. It wasn't deep or particularly heavy, but the machine didn't bog down. I had some oak leaves that fell just before the snow fell. It did struggle there, but thats ok to me. It's not made for leaves. Even the heavier stuff at the end of the driveway was not enough to slow it down. It won't throw it quite as far. Again, that's okay because it throws plenty far with normal snow. The distance of the throw was between 10 and 20 feet depending on the snow. Farther maybe. The battery didn't last very long. However, I was trying to clear my driveway and about 120 feet of sidewalk. If it were just one or the other, it might have been enough.

Great product for clearing our deck and walkway. When a snowblower is too much and a shovel isn't enough this does a great job. Easy to use. Lots of power. A bit heavy but not unexpected considering what it does.
