The game came in great quality and came reasonably fast. Overall the game is lots of fun and very entertaining to play. All the characters are interesting and the game looks stunning. The music also consists of so many song that they could fill up multiple great albums. While the story mode is entertaining, the story requires a lot of prior knowledge to really understand a lot of what’s going on otherwise so many things won’t make sense (for example, one of the characters is referred to as the gear maker and blamed for a 100 year war although this isn’t explained very well at all during the story mode so the significance of a lot of his actions don’t have the same impact). For people who know what’s going on, the story mode is fantastic for most of it as the animation looks pretty good a lot of the time (although some parts do feel a bit janky like the walking animations). The breaks can feel a little long at times to get to if you can only watch in short intervals of times (as this is over 4 hours total) and if you save midway through a part, then you have to restart the entire part. The gameplay feels complex for a high skill ceiling although actually getting into and playing the game isn’t too difficult. The online feels amazing during gameplay compared to most fighting games as you feel like you’re right next to the person 99% of the time in terms of game speed whereas many others in the fighting game genre have on lines that feel sluggish as if underwater half the time without both players on the right setup. This game though you could probably play with your local McDonalds wifi and still have it run so butter smooth. As to single player content, it feels somewhat lacking gameplay wise as while there’s a lot of missions to do and a arcade mode to do, I personally was able to finish all the missions in a few sittings (although this probably won’t be the case for most people, rather many of the missions could take inexperienced players hours to do which could make it frustrating) and the arcade mode feels way too easy most of the way through, then way too difficult at the end to where the best way to win doesn’t feel like playing the game anymore on the true final boss. Other than those two modes, you also have training mode which while useful, doesn’t have all the tools some people would like such as frame data on moves, a replay mode which can be useful at times but I never found it too fun to watch very often, artwork to unlock and tons of music to unlock then finally the vs mode which can be fought against a computer. If you won’t be playing with anyone else, this game may not be the greatest at its $60 price point as like any fighting game, the CPU’s can only be so fun to fight for so long before it gets repetitive. With a friend and/or the ability to play online, it feels so fun. The one and only major issue with the game is the inconsistent lobby system as many times you may just fail to connect with the opponent you’re trying to fight and it’ll stop you from rematching someone many times due to either floor rank ups or the limit of 3 matches being reached. The problems with the lobby and matchmaking system with be there every time you play the game but they’re certainly manageable and the gameplay feels so fun to play that it won’t really be much of a focus. Overall, it’s a fantastic fighting game which I recommend to anyone interested in fighting games at all

A beautiful game, really. Very stylish and feels good to play. The only caveat with GG Strive is that it’s not a finished product. ArcSys has admitted this to be the case, having left out certain modes and things while still releasing something of a finished product for people to play. As always too, the game depends on the promise of DLC, which is expected. So, in short, Strive is great and it will be even better in six months to a year.

Another hit for Arcsys, Gotta love the art, animation, music. A must have. Characters are even bigger now. gameplay is a little more of the oldschool GGs.

The art style of this game alone is worth the purchase, the great gameplay and character design is just an added bonus. Would highly recommend to a fellow fighting game enthusiast.

GUILTY GEAR. it's been a long time coming. The roster is smaller this time but, grab a couple friends and this is a blast/slash in every sense of the word.

Decent game, but lacking in the roster size and moves per character. I was expecting about 30 to choose from. Just half of that zre included. Fans will be disappointed by this one

Guilty Gear Strive is the most fun I have had with a fighting game in years. Beautiful animation and a banging soundtrack compliment tight controls and satisfying gameplay that makes for a great experience. I particularly like the wall mechanic, where you can smash opponents through it to reveal new sections of a stage. Its essentially a combo breaker, which helps the losing player, but smashing someone through the wall just feels so good that id doesn't feel cheap.

they call this game guilty gear because it's like a guilty pleasure. Like eating candy before going to sleep, except instead of candy it's a video game that you play before bed.
