This over-the-range microwave can be installed under a cabinet, even if there is not a cooking surface underneath; however, the height clearances must still be met. Be aware that over-the-range models must be installed at least 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. (This can also be measured as at least 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to.) Please also keep in mind that you should not install this microwave in a closed cabinet or cut-out space where the bottom is covered. Remember that over-the-range microwaves cannot be placed and used on a counter or shelf. (The underside is not flat and would not provide a stable surface.) Doing so can cause a heat issue, especially if the vent fan or surface lights were accidentally turned on. Complete installation requirements can be found in the installation instructions. Perfect microwave
This fits perfectly above my small range, while being plenty roomy inside. It works great. I like that the alarm stops when you open the door. You can speed set it by hitting the number of minutes and it will automatically start for that amount of time.
