I wanted this because of some of the musical numbers in the film. The movie is just fine but it's muscle numbers to enjoy. Also, if you've ever seen Walle then you will learn the music from Walle are the tunes from Hello Dolly. Enjoy.

All I can say is I love this musical. You find yourself dancing and laughing along with the performers. If you like musicals than this is one to add to the list. I have the original on DVD and wanted to purchase blu ray for the sharpness of colors.

Hello Dolly is probably one of Hollywood''s finest musicals. Initally it was panned by the critics for stupid reasons; as usual. Barbra Streisand was considered to young for the part of Dolly. She fit the role like a glove. No one sings the fabulous score better. Take a listen to her version of Hello Dolly and be blown away. Love is Only Love, a new song written for her by Jerry Herman, the show's composer, is probably one of her best performance. Directed beautifuly by Gene Kelly who brings the MGM look to the film. No one produced better musicals than MGM in the fifties. Choreographed by the brilliant Michael Kidd, who did the marvelous dances for Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Also starring Walter Matthau, Michael Crawford, and a great cameo with Louis Armstrong dueting with Miss Streisand on Hello Dolly. The bluray qualty is excellent. A must see for music lovers

Gorgeous widescreen print of this admittedly overblown version of this classic musical! Most people will harp about how Streisand was miscast and too young, but it doesn't matter. She's terrific and sings every song better than anybody else. Her comic timing is also right on the money. The production values are top notch and no expense was sparred in the big dance numbers and the legendary parade sequence. Geez, just get it for the brief moment where Barbra sings with Louis Armstrong! Magic. Could use more extras, but it's a minor quibble.

Was fun getting to see Walter Matthau paired with Barbara Streisand. The musical has great pacing, excellent humor, and big screen choreography. The songs bring back wonderful memories and it's hard to beat Louis Armstrong performance of the title song. For Phantom of the Opera fans a young Michael Crawford is enjoyable in a strong supporting role.

Hello, Dolly! is one of the best musical films I've ever seen. It is filled with high exuberance and is incredibly lavish. Of course it is silly and light hearted. It is what it should be. Everyone in it seems to be having a grand time. Barbra makes a wonderful Dolly Levi and I'm so glad she did this film despite her own misgivings.

I didn't see this musical when it came about because I was of the age when "musicals weren't cool". But now after seeing it for the first time, it was a delight!

I grew up with a Mother who loved Barbara Streisand and saw all her movies. She is super talented and was very charming back then. My daughter loves this movie.

The video looks great and the audio is fine, but it could use a stronger remaster. Still happy to have it on bluray!
