Hemiolia - 6 Trio Sonatas Op. 1 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The most impressive public celebration in baroque Rome was given in honor of Louis XIV in 1686. To celebrate the undisputed protector of the Catholic Church, and one year later the successful operation on the anal fistula of the Great King, the French Ambassador organised a grandiose open-air event on the Pincian hill, between the Trinità dei Monti and the Piazza di Spagna. Corelli's prestigious orchestra in full formation performed InchSinfonieInch with trumpets and timpani, accompanied by fireworks. The virtuoso violinist Emmanuel Resche-Caserta reconstructs this extraordinary musical feat, restoring the cantata in honor of the King of France composed by Alessandro Melani. Here is a revival of the Roman baroque splendor that so marked the French court! Album Tracks 1. Strepiti Sonori 2. Sinfonia Per Le Trombe 3. Sinfonia Grande Con Le Trombe 4. Haydn's 30 Piano Trios were written at a time when the harpsichord was being replaced by the pianoforte and when a parallel change saw the emergence of sonata-allegro form. His earliest trios, such as the Trio in F major, Hob. XV 40, were also known as Divertimentos or Partitas, whilst the Trio in G major, Hob. XV 15, was part of a group that offers the performer the alternative scoring of flute over the more usual violin. They reflect the airy and nimble qualities that grace all of Haydn's works in the genre. Album Tracks 1. Piano Trio in G Major, Hob. XV 15 (1790) 2. Piano Trio (Divertimento) in B Flat Major, Hob. XV 38 (Before 1766) 3. Piano Trio in G Major, Hob. XV 32 (1794) 4. Piano Trio (Divertimento [Partita]) in F Major, Hob. XV 40 (Before 1760) 5. Piano Trio in F Major, Hob. XV 39 (Before 1767) 6. Piano Trio in D Major, Hob. Deest (Date Unknown)
