    Amazon quality

    I purchased this knife block for my fiancée as a Christmas gift last year & we have absolutely loved having them. The Henckels knives are second to none. We have not needed to sharpen them yet & we use them almost every day. This set replaced the previous knives we had & I have no regrets on the purchase. I highly recommend this set & the brand.

    Works great -- aesthically not that great.

    I've been using very dull knives for so long -- so to me these knives are nice and sharp!! I have nothing to really compare to, but I tested the large chef knife on a tomato and it cut easily! The steak knives worked just as I expected on cooked meat (our old ones were pretty useless). Pleased with the set. Only giving 3 stars because the handles changed color as soon as I washed them - (hand wash only in this house). They are no longer a nice uniform black -- but spotty grayed out faded color. That was disappointing. They are brand new but handles look very old....
