Setup is a breeze. Unbox, plug it in to get it charging, and you're ready to go. You'll also want to download Hisense's Connect Life app to your phone which allows you to control various Hisense products including the Party Thunder Pro. Rather than using the buttons on top of the unit, the app gives you the ability to change the LED light show or customize the color, change equalizer settings, play DJ sounds and karaoke options such as Vocal Fade. The unit is splashproof (not waterproof), its pretty tall at 27 inches and weighs 37 pounds so not a lightweight device. But thankfully Hisense has added roller wheels and a retractable handle to make it easily portable. Regarding the sound pumped out by the 620 watt Party Thunder Pro, it is incredible. The tower has 6 built-in speakers; 2 full-range speakers, two tweeters, and two woofers. The bass is booming, especially if you press the "Bass" button", and it gets VERY loud. I played it at full volume and could hear no distortion from the speakers. Then there's the light show from the tower, it is amazing. There are arrays of LED lights on all three sides of the speaker (just not on the rear side) as well as on top of the speaker near the controls. There are 5 different options for customizing the light show all of which sync to the music you're playing. It is awesome to watch, with Light Show #4 being my favorite. The documentation says the speaker will deliver 18 hours of battery life (at volume 11, lights and bass off). I haven't tested the battery's longevity but for a speaker this powerful that's very good. With the lights and bass on you should easily get a full evening's worth of use for a party, etc. The Party Thunder Pro comes with a wireless microphone and plug-in dongle for karaoke or if you want to play DJ. Both devices can be charged by USB-C, cable included. Just push the 'on' button on both the microphone and dongle and it pairs to the speaker automatically. When using the Karaoke functions, there is a button on the Party Thunder Pro called Vocal Fade. When you push it you can fade out the lead singer's voice when playing songs. If you use the app it gives you other options where you can fade out the rhythm, guitar, and male or female voices.  The Vocal Fade function for Vocals works remarkably well which makes the Party Thunder Pro a great device for karaoke. Fading out the Rhythm works pretty well so you only hear the lead singer vocals. Fading out the guitar didn't work as well as the other fade out options. I played a Led Zepplin song and I could hear everything Jimmy Page was playing, so fading out the guitar didn't really work so good. But as mentioned, fading out the vocals works great which makes it an excellent tool for karaoke. And the app gives you several options to change your voice sound to things like a baby, a male or female voice, electronica, and even a monster, so pretty fun. There is also an input for a quarter-inch guitar jack. I happen to play guitar so I tried out this feature and after plugging in my Stratocaster I found that while it works, the tone is pretty flat and bland sounding so I'll just stick to my guitar amplifier. However, plugging in my electric/acoustic guitar sounded pretty great! My guitar has a built-in EQ so the sound was much better and I could definitely see using this speaker with its microphone to do a little entertaining :)  Overall, the Hisense Party Thunder Pro is a fantastic party speaker/sound tower. It delivers incredible sound, awesome light shows, easy portability, and a ton of fun with the karaoke and DJ functions. Highly recommended! 

I have been using this speaker for about a week now and have been pleasantly surprised with is design and performance. I have use it in several ways; on the deck, around kids and even just to have some background music on. All scenarios have been pleasant. The kids love the mic and can sing along to their tunes. On the deck has been amazing as it can produce some major bass while putting on a light show. In the house has been great too as put out quality sound with minimal needing to tinker with settings. Another feature I like is the portability aspect. Lets get one thing straight... this speaker is heavy...very heavy. I would estimate between 60-70 lbs. However, with 2 built in roller wheel and a suitcase style expanding handle its a breeze to move from point A to point B. From a feature standpoint, this speaker is set to rock any party, with built in mic and guitar inputs this is sure to satisfy any group. There are also the typical dials to adjust bass and treble as well as multiple other dials to hone in the output. You can also sync input via blue tooth or aux cord. All in all, if youre looking for a nice add to your party arsenal then I would suggest looking into this speaker as its portable, has multiple device inputs and can light up any room. No pun intended.

I admit that I went into testing the Hisense Party Thunder Pro speaker with low expectations compared to the similar sized options I already own and love from another brand. I was instantly pleasantly surprised by this speaker. The sound was nice and loud without a lot of distortion straight out of the box but of course you can make things better by tweaking some things (such as the bass button on the speaker). The AI lights were far less invasive to an I thought they would be (they admittedly can be a little over the top with the other brand speakers I have). The included wireless microphone is a fun addition although I wasn’t a huge fan of the echo feature or the fact that you have to keep up with a dongle to be able to use it instead of the receiver being built into the speaker). The DJ sounds are a little gimmicky for my tastes but could be a fun feature for some. I was not able to test out the guitar connection but I could definitely see that being a fun experience with a group of friends. Battery life was excellent so you don’t have to worry about needing to find an outlet or needing to recharge throughout your event. The only true negative or confusing thing may be the splash resistant panel but no true mention of the entire speaker being splash or water resistant unless I overlooked that detail. That would make me hesitant to use it in some outdoor environments although it’s definitely not a huge deal breaker.

I have owned a few party speakers over the years and they are all somewhat similar. There are a few nuances here-and-there, but there is not a lot that separates them from each other, in my opinion. In that regard, this speaker is not too dissimilar from others I have used, although there are a few notable exceptions that makes me really like this speaker. To begin, most speakers like this have the ability to connect a microphone to it. This was the first party speaker I ever purchased, however, that included the microphone! The microphone itself is also wireless. While it does not connect "natively" with the speaker, there is a wireless adapter headphone/phono jack apparatus that plugs into the back (which means it could also be used with other party speakers). The setup is pretty simple and there is a dial to adjust the microphone volume and echo. Worked really easy. The top of the speaker includes a LED display, of sorts, that makes it easy to toggle between different EQ or other settings. This is the first party speaker I have owned that had that feature, which makes operation easy. There is a button for a bass boost as well (which worked great and is my default "on" setting). Connectivity works as you expect it would via bluetooth. Another interesting and welcome feature is that there is a USB-C port on the back of the speaker that can be used to charge an attached device (such as the microphone or a smartphone). Battery life is good and the sound is rich, clear, and deep. The LED lights on the speaker and the sides are nice, although somewhat repetitive in terms of their syncing with the sound/music. Still, the lights are a nice feature, but the sound is the most important and this speaker sounds great and has plenty of volume for most environments. The speaker is heavy, which makes the wheels and extendable handle really nice. The wheels turn freely and seem to be robust enough to survive rugged terrain. The short story is that I really like this speaker and prefer it to the others I have had in the past. The features are good, it is easy to use, and (most importantly) it sounds great.

This is what my backyard needed in the summer, and the party room in the off season. With 620 watts of thunderous power, it fills the area with amazing sound. The AI features power the light effects and vocals for the perfect Karaoke experience. This is a full featured portable speaker system, complete with a wireless microphone. The inputs include USB, AUX 3.5mm plug, guitar and Bluetooth. The case has wheels for easier portability as it’s around 35lbs. The lighting system syncs perfectly with the music, and bright enough to light up the room. The top panel is splash proof, with a rating of IPX4. It’ll resist the occasional splashes, but it’s not spray or heavy rain proof. I found that the kids, family and friends loved it! They enjoyed the mic immensely. As for me, it took some warming up to belt out the tunes. It was a real help when it came to celebrating birthdays etc., when calling out to the crowd. The battery lasted all day when we took it along to an outing at the park. It was also the perfect companion when using a projector TV for those outdoor movie nights. Overall, this has turned out to be the must have purchase of the summer. For Football, BBQ and creating memories, I couldn’t be happier.
