I have really enjoyed the google home. The shopping list, timers, alarms, weather and commute info alone are worth the price of google home. I also have a Samsung Smartthings hub and a Phillips Hue bridge. I did not have any interest in being able to talk to my lights, thermostats, or garage door. However, now that I have that ability I very much enjoy it and would nit go back to simply usings apps on my phone. Google home also plays well with IFTTT, which gives me all kinds of additional options for home automation. Unlike other devices I don't have to 'trigger' anything and there is no 'sending that to IFTTT', goggle home just executes the requested task. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that unlike the google assistant on my phone, google home can not read or send text messages, and it can not execute routines built in Smartthings (using IFTTT there are some text sending functions). I have no doubt these options will be available in the future. I would absolutely recommend this device with or without Smartthings or Hue.

The Google Home is a great product, well designed, with a decent range of available functions. I use mine to control the house lights via Philips Hue, my heating and cooling via the Nest thermostat. I also play and control my music using Spotify. The speaker has, for its size, a pretty impressive sound range. You can also control and play TuneIn Radio through it. Though the Amazone Echo might have a little more available options at this point in time, I'm pretty certain that Google will be adding that and more on in the near future. For now additional functionality can be added using IFTTT. I find the Google Home's interaction and replies when talking to it to be more personable and a little bit more "human like" than the Echo. I have two in my house and would without question recommend it. Really enjoying the Google Home and looking forward to what it will be capable of doing next. Great product!

I didn't think I was going to like these and took me a while to purchase one. On Cyber Monday they were on sale from $68 ea and I bought 2. Love them and I couldn't be happier. Have one at my house and the other in my office. Love the phone call feature and casting. The sound is good. I have gone ahead and bought 2 google home mini's.

Overall I enjoy the google home. Hears pretty good, sounds good (almost as good as the beats pill +), looks nice, and starting to use it more and more. Could be smarter but seems like it's does get smarter as time goes on. Like setting timers, asking about my day when making coffee, adding stuff to my shopping list, controlling my Philips hue light, etc. my 4 year old son is always talking to it (not sure how I feel about that). I have a google pixel xl phone and they both respond when you say "ok, google" when next to both, but usually only answers from the home assistant.

There are a few early reviews on the web but nothing I saw was in depth to test Google Home's capabilities. Even with the lack of in depth reviews, getting Google Home was an easy purchase decision for me. For users with a lot of Google and cast capable devices, Google Home will integrate nicely into your current solution. Connecting my Nest and Smart Things to Google Home took a few minutes to figure out but I managed to add them through the Google Home android app. I can't say how Google Home works with iOS devices, I haven't had the chance to test with my daughter's phone ... yet. Google Home is currently limited to one account, casting only a couple apps (ie: YouTube and Google Music) and limited Google service interaction (can't take notes or read messages). Thankfully Google is aware what people want and have stated that these features will be implemented in the future. Overall, I am happy with this purchase. The sound the little device produces is amazing. Google Home is able to pick up my voice from across the house but struggles if playing music at the same time at high volume. Since this device is being sold in major retail stores, I feel confident that Google won't do a "No Man's Sky" on us and completely abandon development on a niche product. What I mean to say is that this won't be another Nexus Q. I don't think the Nexus Q was sold in stores but the Nexus Q gave us the ChromeCast ... which is nice. -1 star for releasing with current limitations.

Google Home is so awesome! It has so many great features. I love to play my music through the device, as well as playing news and podcasts through it. I've also paired it with all three Chromecasts in my home and I can voice-activate YouTube and Netflix to play on each one of my TVs (even different items simultaneously)! And, now that Google has opened up the technology to third-party developers, there are new options added each day! This is so much better than the Echo because it uses Google's vast amount of information from its search engine and from it's users (something the Echo cannot come close to). Google Home has already caught up to the Echo and it is surpassing the Echo (which is over two years-old). In addition, its smaller frame and more powerful speaker also make it a better buy and a no-brainer for anyone trying to decide which one to purchase. You will be happy that you've purchased this, and you will enjoy using all of the options it offers today and the new ones it keeps adding each day!

In my situation, only one example that I feel it is not that smart good enough than Echo. I can ask Echo to turn off "Bedroom Light" to turn off all my hue lights in my bedroom even though I did not create a groups named "Bedroom Light". However, Google Home cannot understand this phase because there is not device on my list named "Bedroom Light". I have to tell Google Home turn off "Bedroom" instead of it. Which I think Echo is smarter and Amazon also offers to create a group is a great idea. Hope Google will add this function. Since Youtube almost the best free online video sources that we can use, I believe that Google Home can use voice to play video via Chrome Cast is also preponderant compare with Echo.

Very good sound quality for the size. Easy to setup with the rest of my smart home speakers. My best feature I like is the broadcasting!

First of all, bestbuy is the place where i always look for my electronic shopping, not only has it offer many new techs, but also with GREAT deal! I've been looking for purchasing Google Home for couple weeks before i finally bought it with great bundle discount. The review definitely helped me to make decision too. Second, Id like to focus on the product. its so much better than Amazon Echo, because the data base google use is more extensive than amazon whose core is online b2b shopping platform, whereas google is a company that looks into innovation of techonolgy, google home brings people another level of seeing tech.

Really enjoy using the Google Home. It easily enables me to listen to news, music and other things such as weather by simply asking. The voice recognition is quite good and the device hears well even with background noise. I was able to connect my Android enabled TV through my home network and can instruct Google Home to play videos, go to You tube etc without using my TV remote. Looking forward to connecting other devices such as lighting controls and HVAC controls.

Would have gotten 5 stars if it had more support for my smart devices in my home. Tells me no more than it succeeds at following my commands but the commands that work are impressive.

I WAS CONCERNED THAT I WOULD NOT UNDERSTAND HOW TO OPERATE IT BECAUSE I HAVE VERY LIMITED TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE. BUT IT WAS A 1,2 3 SET-UP AND A LITTLE EXPLANATION FROM THE YOUNG SALESMAN AND I STARTED ENJOYING IT WITHIN 10 MINUTES AFTER I GOT HOME WITH IT. GREAT SOUND AND SPEAKERS. I AM REALLY PLEASED. THANK YOU

I purchased this for my kitchen as I love listening to music when food prepping. I love that I can ask Google to set a timer, check weather, set alarm clock, look something up. It’s a great product, so great I also have purchased the little pods for different rooms in my house.
