After a one year of using it I can say that this portable cooler works so nice during the day, but at night is terrible noisy. Anyway I gave it four stars because it is easy to use, easy to clean and the air is clean and fresh.

This cooler is mostly a glorified fan with the ability to provide minimal cooling in low humidity environments (< 50%). Once the temps and humidity go up to around 80 F (or 27 C) it doesn't seem very effective and an A/C would be better. However, it's a lot more energy efficient, compact, quieter and portable than an A/C so it would be useful in smaller spaces or wherever you can't vent exhaust out a window. There is also a large capacity reservoir which make it convenient to use for a long time (e.g. 1-2 weeks with regular use) without having to refill it. The remote makes it easy to switch the fan speed (low, med, hi) and activate the oscillating louvers to provide more fan coverage. I used this in the PNW where humidity hovers around 45-55% indoors the summer and was useful when temps were below 80 F / 27 C. It's also useful for ventilating small rooms or areas where an A/C wouldn't be appropriate (e.g. no windows).

We have not been able to use this properly, it doesn't really have any impact on the room temperature even for a small room or 100-150 sq feet. We didn't use it for a long time and couldn't find out during the returnable period if we could return or not. It just turned out to be a complete waste of money. Also filling and getting water in is a hassle as well.

The cooling sensation happens when the airflow touches your body. Having the airflow directly onto your body / skin is the best way of cooling with an air cooler, so it ideal to have the airflow within reach. Air Coolers work best in dry climates - the temperature reduction of the air coming through the air cooler is higher with drier air. The cooler works well for the price. It is best used in a mid-sized or small room. Adding cold water helps cool vent cooler air. It is by no means an air conditioner but it does help cool an area a bit. My only complaint is the compartment for refilling the water is small so refilling the water will take some time.

Works as designed. Didn’t cool as much as I had hoped but that’s due to my unreasonable expectations. Uses less energy than an air conditioner. Plan to use this winter as a humidifier. Satisfied with the purchase.
