Alrik and his family eventually end up in Chicago Heights where he becomes the Head Hammer Man at Columbia Steel. They get themselves a house and his grandchildren describe Alrik as a loving but stern family man who never mentions a word about the strike, Horndal, or even Sweden to anyone.
