About this product
Limited colored vinyl LP pressing includes digital download. Charlie Martin and Will Taylor met at a baseball game while on tour drumming for different bands. Back home in Austin, the two Texas natives discovered both held batches of compatible songs, intended for solo projects. They merged as Hovvdy instead. Penned separately, the duo's first-ever songwriting efforts coalesce seamlessly on debut LP Taster. To this day, Charlie and Will create like satellites on the same orbit, combining bedroom recordings into a singular worn-in sound. Their downtempo rock found an audience in the Austin and New Orleans scenes, elevated by support from small indie Sports Day Records. For Heavy Lifter, the duo worked with producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist Ben Littlejohn. Throughout Fall 2018, the team built out the album in makeshift home studios around Texas. Both singers' voices cut through more decisively than ever, carried by vivid storytelling and production eccentricities. Album Tracks 1. 1999 2. Mr. Lee 3. So Brite 4. Cathedral 5. Lifted 6. The story of Howdies All Around is the story of a group of friends getting together to share songs around a campfire. At it's heart is a love for the hard scrabble heroes of Country Music's early days and the freewheeling feeling of the Outlaw era. Howdies All Around bares bones that are the musical styles of Appalachia and the old Blues that came together to create a distinctly American art form. The six members of The Howdies each bring a unique musical background that combines to create a singular sound. Their Athens, Ga home has long been an artistic haven for all genres of music and an open forum for shared expression. The result is a place where outsiders flourish and the rules of musical tradition are often bent or even broken with a wink and a smile. Produced by David Barbe and T. Hardy Morris and recorded at Chase Park Transduction, only Athens could create a group like The Howdies and a record like Howdies All Around. A little bit loose, a little bit home made but over flowing with the love of friendship and the sheer joy of creating something new.A1. Hello, JukeboxA2. BuddiesA3. Staying StandingA4.
