The Hoya EVO Antistatic 82mm UV filter is your lens’ first line of defense against scratches, dust and dirt. Hoya engineers developed an ANTISTATIC coating that negates the static electric charge caused by rubbing and cleaning your filter. This prevents dust and dirt from collecting on the surface of the glass, making it great for environments where dust is common. Additionally, the hardened, antistatic top-layer is water repellent, stain, and scratch-resistant, and cleans easily when smudges or fingerprints are introduced to the surface. EVO Antistatic UV filters are made in Japan using high-performance professional grade optical glass. Hoya’s patented 18-layer super multi-coating (HMC) formula reduces or eliminates reflections on the surface of the glass and yields a 99.8% light transmission rate for incredibly sharp and colorful pictures. The filter features a lightweight, one-piece, low-profile aluminum frame. This one-piece design allows the filter to maintain perfect parallel alignment to the sensor plane for maximum sharpness, while the low-profile form eliminates vignetting when used on ultra-wide-angle lenses.
