The quality of the product is what I was expecting from a computer of this price range. Don't get me wrong, it's a good computer. Especially for school which is why I got it. It can definitely handle that with ease. The computer does have it's moments, quite frequently, with freezing. It can play computer games but will freeze eventually. Overall, with the way money is working for me, I would buy it again. The price is good and that's the main reason I bought it.

I bought this as an open box item as, expected, the in-the-box models were sold out. The first thing I noticed is that the S mode had been disabled by the previous user so I downloaded Chrome, which is the browser I use. Right away I started seeing problems with the display. At random times it would just go black. This is my first laptop so I was a little disheartened by this but I researched and found that there is a glitch with windows 10 and chrome. I was relieved that at least it wasn’t the laptop...as I’m used to using 7 still. I ended up streaming it to my TV and that issue cleared up since I was taking the display out of the equation. I had some issues getting my printer to work (as it is an older model and not supposed to be compatible with windows 10) but all is well now and overall I am happy with this purchase. I record videos on YouTube and so far the programs I must use to record and edit have worked no problem!

Battery life too short and I’m not sure if it can be over charged, and something is going on when I click on a new tab

I am pleased with this purchase. The price I purchased at was not a sale price and was excellent. The 1TB memory is treaty difficult to get in this price range. No regrets with this purchase.

Here's what you came for: HOW TO GET OUT OF S MODE This model has severe problems getting out of Windows S Mode. The reason why is that Windows 10 has had so many crucial updates, that the version included here is incompatible with the Windows store function to turn off S mode - you'll just get the "something went wrong" error over and over. Here's how to get out of S mode. Set up the computer (warranty, Wifi, set up your microsoft account, etc etc), and then go immediately to Microsoft's Media Creation tool website. Install a new copy of windows through that portal. It will automatically use your windows license key, so no worries about that. You can choose to keep your files or not, hopefully you won't have any since you just turned it on - but if you've been languishing in S mode for a while, you can choose to keep your files. After Windows reinstalls, go to the Microsoft store and search for "s mode." You can now turn of S mode for good. As an added bonus, doing this reinstall also removes the inane and pointless HP software assistant and news reader. The computer will run 100% faster without all that proprietary junk. NOW ON TO THE COMPUTER ITSELF Very very light, runs fast (AMD is always good bang for the buck), matte finish doesn't leave fingerprints, nice screen. Only real downside is lack of the numerical pad - something you just have to sacrifice for size. It does have a RJ45 ethernet port, though it has a kind of a weird fold down mechanism to save space. Overall, you'll like it - just get out of S mode as soon as you can.

Computer speed is good, no issues so far, and it is so portable and light weight. The memory storage is next to none within that price range.

I am surprised the build quality is so nice, and this laptop comes in a chassis that feels similar to an expensive MacBook with what feels like aluminum. The keyboard feels mushy but hey, it's a cheap laptop, they had to cut costs. The processor is better than I expected, compared to a more expensive windows surface.

I purchased this laptop and it was one of those returned/refurbished with a huge discount smacked on it. So i thought, why not. All in all, it’s a good device. Randomly, though, it will completely lock up on me if i am on the Internet reading and have too many windows open at once. CTL/ATL/DEL doesn’t even help. The mouse locks up. The screen doesn’t respond to anything you type on the keyboard. You have no choice but to shut it off manually and let it reboot. It’s only happened three times to me and i will admit I did have multiple windows open because I was helping a friend research symptoms of MS and other types of syndromes all at once and wanted to flag them as favorites to come back and read... but the computer couldn’t handle it all at once i guess. Other than that, it’s been an ok laptop.

Love everything except for the battery life. After 4 hours, the laptop will be at quarter battery life and needs to be plugged in. Touch screen is great and it's fairly lightweight. Good for business and homeschool work.

I purchased this laptop for my son and, boy does he loves it. Not only does it have way more memory than his previous laptop but, it's more compact than his bulky one from before, and the price was great. I almost bought the same laptop from another store, with half the space and memory and $50 more.

Good bang for the buck. The body is fairly light weight but Sturdy. Battery life isn’t the greatest. Decent specs for the price. Only drawback is the keyboard isn’t backlit.

Purchased a NEW laptop( my old lap top was 12 years old, you get it). My grandson assisted me with my purchase and advised me what to buy. WOW what a difference this Dell made. Price was very good. I compared prices with Walmart ( their service is horrible and useless) Best Buy was comparable and you have the GEEKS in house who can handle problems. I have purchased my original laptop from them and that old thing is still working but slow and does not do what this Microsoft 10 does. Still happy - JP

Not bad for the price. I've had it for about a month. I've had it freeze on me 2 or 3 times, which is annoying. But I've had not real problems with it.

Perfect size! I needed an updated laptop and this fit the bill. Inexpensive, light, compact and plenty of memory. I use this for paying bills, searching the internet, saving patterns and recipes. Perfect for viewing recipes in the kitchen.

I am personally not used to Windows 10 S version (I have regular Windows 10 Home). Windows 10 S seems a bit awkward to me when trying to help her get it set up to use. The windows security center seemed to have some errors going into it but she was able to get it fix and to recognize the virus software. However, niece is getting ready to head off to college next fall and needed something to at least get her started. It seemed reasonable for the price. Seems to run good for her and is able to work independently easier than using a Chromebook.
