I was looking for the perfect laptop and came across this HP. And I'm glad I purchased it, It works great! This 14' laptop does everything I need it to do. Can't go wrong with that!

The laptop serves a temporary purpose. If you need certain features such as speed, backlight, and certain app compatibility, this little cutie is not for you.

For our needs, this laptop is fine. It isn't the fastest. It could use more RAM -- but we don't use it for anything requiring a lot of power. The display is good. It's lightweight and thin. Overall we are happy with it.

The laptop was exactly what I needed for school. Its fast enough and has enough memory to store my documents. I especially like the split screen feature that allows me to take notes on an online textbook and watch my favorite shows on Hulu with no loading issues.

This has been a great laptop overall. It is my second time buying a value HP PC/laptop. I have had this one for about 15 months. Maybe my 6th+ time having an HP (of some kind). It really is for little to no multi-tasking (as it comes), depending on what you're using it for. The keys can sometimes not pick up correct input (requiring a reboot), and sometimes the browser tabs (if many are open), it can also freeze, requiring a restart. Its good for browsing, word processing, and likely a basic study laptop (which has been my use of them). I might recommend a backup portable hard-drive, and a mouse. Possibly a travel case/sleeve for it. If using it both at home and on the go, definitely consider using it as a docked computer, and going with a keyboard and a monitor, in addition to the other items above - it will make it last longer. Great value laptop overall - happy that Best Buy and HP offer it at the prices I have seen over the years I have seen it. Thanks!

This entry level laptop is powerful enough to carry out most of the school tasks. And, it is not good for gaming, not at all. It is so affordable, can be a good choice for K12 students.

Compact but very useful for the needed purpose. After initial slow setup, speed was relatively normal and picked up after every use. Great buy!

This computer is at an attractive price. It's fine if all you do it read email and occasionally view social media, but the 4 gig of memory is really too small to do anything else without slowing the computer down, and it comes stuck in S mode, which almost no one should want. If you have the skills, you can upgrade the memory to 8 Gig for about $15 and you can take it out of S mode. I did not notice any slowdown after taking it out of S mode. I believe the slowdown only occurs if you load it up with programs that are running in the background. To upgrade the memory, you had to remove the two rubber strips on the bottom of the computer. Be very careful when removing the. It's each to stretch them out and if that happens, they will no long fit in their slots and there will be ugly bumps and they will be very difficult to get straight when you put them back.

Easy to setup and move throughout this laptop. I needed 1 for upcoming school and this 1 had enough memory to get me through it.

You can’t go wrong with HP. I ordered this cheap HP laptop for my brother and he loves it. It’s easy to carry with great battery life and easy to use for his business on the go

Shoot me --- This is a very good computer for the price - BUT. I needed a computer to run two programs for programming some devices I make (I'm an Electronic Engineer). Unbeknownst to me, this computer comes with a "safety" feature that prevents you from loading "non Microsoft approved" applications - so I couldn't load the two programs I needed. At first I had no idea why the programs wouldn't install then did some research. This safety mode is supposed to be easy to turn off - but the procedure failed - multiple times. I called Microsoft support (first gun shot to my head) and they said there is a bug and to reload the operating system and that will fix it.... Over 2 hours later - same thing - didn't work. Called back again (second bullet to the head) and this time they had me reload operating system again - and of course - that didn't work again. I called back once more (I shot myself in the groin this time) and they said to bring the computer back to the store, return the computer, buy another one and have the techs at the store turn off the safety mode... Great - I bought the computer on-line so I didn't have to go to the store. So after that call, I looked some more on-line and found Microsoft had a "Repair" version of Windows, so I download that and after another 2+ hours - I was able to turn off the safety function is 3 minutes - like's its supposed to take when the software works. I started in the morning to setup the computer, I was able to load the two programs at 11PM.... The Microsoft support team in India didn't mention the repair version - so maybe this version was released coincidentally later in the evening and I just happened to find the version before giving up. Once installed, the programs ran fine, and like I said the computer is well worth the cost. Hopefully Microsoft has corrected the issue.

It's a great, low-cost laptop. We bought it to do the books for our business. It's small, fast enough, and a great inexpensive solution!

We bought this as a first laptop for our 8 year old and it has been fantastic! It is durable, has great battery life, and is a nice little machine! Very capable, too!
