A: Yes it will. There is a button to choose if you want color or black copies.
A: This printer also has "rear" or backside paper loading.
Q: Will this printer work with my macbook air and what ink cartridges does it use?
A: I'm not sure which Mac OSX your Macbook Air is currently running, but this printer has software support for Apple Mac OS X v10.9 Mavericks, OS X v10.10 Yosemite, OS X v10.11 El Capitan, OS X v10.12 Sierra. It appears to use the HP 65 black and tri-color ink cartridges. The starter cartridges that it comes with have an estimated 120 page yield for the black and an estimated 100 page yield for the color. You may get different yields from the full cartridges.
Q: Does HP printer 2655 come with ink cartriges, or do I have to purchase them separately
A: It comes with ink
Q: Does it have to be wireless, or can you print normally through a USB cable?
A: It CAN be used WITH a USB cable. Be warned, however, that the online Best Buy information for this printer shows that it comes with the USB cable. But it DOES NOT. The outside of the box clearly shows that there is no USB cable in the box. Why Best Buy says it does when it doesn't is beyond me. It's not a big deal because a cable costs less than $10 dollars. However, it is a pain to get it home, find no cable, and have to run out again to buy one. I promptly contacted Best Buy about this and, so far, they have not had the courtesy to respond to me.
Q: Can I NOT use the wireless feature and just plug this printer in the HP laptop using the UBS cable?
A: I am using this printer as a wireless connection to my HP Slimline Desk Top Tower -- using the USB cable connection - works fine. All you can do is try it on your laptop - and plug in the power cord to a nearby power outlet - and follow the download & install printer software instructions from: 123.hp.com - just be sure NOT to plug in the USB cable until instructed to do so! Should work unless it's REALLY only considered as a wireless system. Go to: the HP websites for the hp desk jet 2655 printer - -- download the User Guide for yourself.for more info. if you haven't done so. Hope it works for you!
A: Dimensions: with all compartments closed it measures approx. 12 in. D by 17 in. W by 6 in. H. When loaded with paper and extension arm open it measures approx. 22 in. D by 17 in. W by 12 in. H. This device is for print, copy, and scan only. No fax. Hope this helps.
Q: How would I figure out if this is compatible with my laptop?
A: Lanie, Your Laptop most likely supports this printer. If you are running Windows 10 it certainly works with this printer. This printer works wireless. As long as your Laptop is on the same wireless network as the printer you should be able to easily add the printer using the Windows 10 "Add Printer" utility. In my case I am using a Linux operating system on my Lenovo Winbook Laptop. HP is probably the best company to provide the most up to date printer drivers for their printers. Hope this helps.
