I got this laptop for regular home use. It works fantastic, it's super responsive, and beautiful. My son plays his games on it and there is no lag at all. Overall a great purchase, worth every penny.

Been waiting for this refresh since AMDs announcement of the 2nd gen Ryzen processors in January. Although this 3700U processor is only about 5% faster than it's predecessor, the 2700U, the main selling point here is the die shrinkage from 14nm to 12nm. This means less power consumption, less heat and better overall CPU efficiency. I had the previous model, the 15M-CP0012DX, and I can tell you that this new model runs much quieter and cooler. CPU temps while streaming and browsing, which is my main use, seem to be roughly 3-5 °C cooler. Idle is at 35 °C. This new model still uses the same keyboard, same ram frequency at 2400, same Realtek WiFi card (which is now inaccessible unless you remove the mother board) and same FHD IPS touch display so I won't talk about those. One thing to note about the display and one of my only gripes, it's still a bit dim just like the previous one, I was hoping HP gave it some more brightness but they didn't. Since it only came with 8GB of ram, I took the liberty to open the back cover up and upgrade it to 32GB of ram. I just don't think 8GB is enough these days and adding more ram takes a little less stress off of the CPU which helps it run even cooler. I noticed the back cover was redesigned for better airflow and there are much more thermal tapes scattered around. Internal design is a big upgrade from the 2700U model. There are now 2 cooling fans with even more heat pipes, seems like HP is taking fan noise and heat very serious and that's something I can appreciate. Also, there is only 1 drive for the PCI-e NVMe SSD, no more SATA III drive which is fine by me. Laptop comes with 256GB which is fine for most people but if you want to upgrade they make them up to 2TB (4000GB), if you have the means to buy one. I can't comment on battery life too much as I mostly keep my laptop in my room and plugged in but it seems to last a decent amount of time of around 4-5 hours. I ran it unplugged on purpose and it wasn't too bad at all although I don't have solid figures. Maybe another review will address this. So overall I am very happy with this laptop, no issues at all so far. That's all I have and thanks for reading. Hopefully this will help you decide to buy or not.

Great performance, good build quality, and great value. Very happy with the purchase. I do wish hp would be more clear on what ram it has and if its upgradable. Though it has plenty for most users I have a few programs that want to see a full 8 gigs and while this laptop has 8 gigs some of it is shared with the graphics card. I would have liked to have a bigger hdd and usb c charging but again those aren't deal breakers and its still a great laptop.

I was originally looking at getting the previous model of this laptop, during my research I noticed that they were releasing a new model so I decided to wait for this one to come out. I'm glad I did, I feel like the construction is a bit more sturdy overall, especially on the touchpad. This is a touchscreen even though the specs currently say it's not (I knew it would be because I was able to find the HP spec sheet online, but in case you're wondering). A few things worth mentioning, there is no indicator on the num lock key to indicate if it is on or off, there is no f lock key, and the fingerprint reader is hit or miss. None of these things were deal breakers for me nor do I feel like they were things that I personally would remove a star for. I may eventually do some upgrades to the RAM and/or install a larger SSD, but overall I am super happy with the laptop.

Currently using this laptop for college, didn’t need the most powerful thing out there, but this thing sure does pack a punch. Pretty light for its size and port selection is wide, which is exactly what I need. Battery life isn’t the best, but it gets me through each day with some left to spare. Also acceptable due to the performance and speakers this thing has. Great all around buy.

Replaced my ten year old ASUS that I loved but was acting the fool. I considered another ASUS, Lenovo, Surface, or Dell but the HP won out due to price, performance, and my prior experience with HP products. I don't need a detachable screen or any of the other fancy stuff so I'm happy with my new HP.

I am pleased with this laptop and have found it to be much faster in its response than my previous laptop and my desktop, as the drive is solid state. The storage is less than my previous laptop, but extra storage can be done on the cloud or with an external hard drive. I also like the ability to backlight the keyboard.

Well built pc, zero issues so far, great touch screen sensitivity. Rubs most games at a very high FPS even though it’s not a “gaming” laptop. While running a high demand game, GPU and CPU get pretty strained so I keep it on a cooling fan pad, but otherwise it’s a great laptop.

This is my first laptop with AMD Ryzen 7 and a touchscreen. The speed meets all of my requirements and then some. The touch screen is an awesome feature. The 2-in-1 moveable screen has been convenient to use. I’m very pleased with this purchase.

I initially got this laptop for photo editing. It is very fast and is such a great tool for any creative being. The touch screen × waicom tablet combination is perfect for detailed touch ups as well as for creating neat illustrations. I am alsona full time student learning to code using both Kotlin and Java and this laptoo runs Android Studio so smoothly. I love this laptop. My previous laptop was a Macbook and this is far superior.

This laptop is a great deal without a fancy price tag! It's responsive and highly adaptable to individual tastes and/or needs. The battery is quick charging and long lasting. The 10 key function was a must for me. The graphics and size of the screen allow me to comfortably watch movies/videos and sound from the speakers are great too! By the way, I'm not tech savvy (I'm 53) and prefer a little old school in my world! Lol. Set up was easy for me. HP/Microsoft walks you through all the steps! I've owned this computer for about 2 weeks now. I'm highly satisfied!

Really like my new computer, printer, scanner, fax and accessories that I recently purchased. Still learning all the things my new computer can do. Owned it less than a month. After using a company computer for 20 years I was worried about a computer that I was not familiar with. The sales person at Best Buy really put all my fears to rest. Sales associate extremely knowledgeable, professional. I was extremely happy with my purchases when I brought them home. Set-up was easy. Microsoft office 365 uploaded easily.

I have been very satisfied with my experience with this laptop so far (a few weeks). The computer is well built and feels very solid. This is my first Ryzen-powered laptop, and the processor is fast without heating issues. For the sake of disclosure, I did replace the internal SSD with a larger, faster drive. Overall I am very happy with this computer, especially at the price.

I bought this 2in1 for my workshop. I use it for project design and for building plans. I bought a Wacom stylus to go with it for that purpose and the two work like a dream together. I’ve also used this for photo and video editing, streaming, and graphic design. This machine keeps up with everything I’ve thrown at it so far and doesn’t bat an eyelash. You can also expect an enjoyable gaming experience out of this well designed little powerhouse.

First laptop I’ve ever had so I was very happy with how easy it was to set up and quick. Also I’m an aspiring interior designer and this laptop was beyond perfect for what I needed, amazing pictures, easy to design on, works well with the bamboo pen as well, and so much storage! Highly recommend ❤️

I usually buy Intel I7. However, I kept hearing about how good the new AMD Ryzen7 chips were so I decided to give this laptop a chance. I ran numerous benchmarks and compared my results to numerous Intel I7 laptops. I was impressed. The 8th gen I7 edges it out in single threaded tests. But that all changes in the multi-thread tests where this Ryzen7 shines. I have used this laptop to run multiple linux VM's at the same time. This laptop ran them well. Overall this laptop is very fast, the screen is gorgeous, and the fingerprint scanner works flawlessly. I would buy this again without hesitation and recommend it for anyone who needs a powerful laptop for coding, photoshop, etc.
