A: HP Instant Ink is where you pay for the number of pages print. Not the ink. To take advantage of this promotion, you just need to register at HTTP://www.hpinstant.com. The 8 months of ink is based on the 100-page plan from HP Instant Ink. HP Instant Ink is where you pay for the number of pages print. Not the ink. The 100 page plan is normally $4.99 a month. So with the 8 months, that is a $40 credit. You can technically choose any of the three plans, but the number of months would change. For example, if you chose the $2.99 plan (50 pages a month), the 2-year plan would last about 13 months. The $9.99 plan (300 pages a month) would last about 4 months. HP will send you more ink before you need it. So, it does not matter what you actually print on the page. It is just the number of pages that are being counted based on the plan you chose.
Q: How many copies does one ink cartridge make before needing to be replaced?
A: Never really measured, however, in one month, I printed 375 pages - photos and documents and just replaced all color and black. Although the cartridge is smaller than the previous printer that used HP 950/951/XL's....it seems to use the same to less ink, and quality I print at is the 'Best' option selected.

A: You can scan either way, using the document feeder or the glass platen. The document feeder is great for most media, but if you have a tattered or vintage document, the glass is a gentler choice.
